07-10-2017; bottle; at home (bought at Albert Heijn, Capelle aan den IJssel, The Netherlands).
The looks of the beer are average. It looks like a regular Pilsener. The beer is crystal clear and has a golden yellow color. On top of the beer a rough white head is formed. Foam retention is very poor. After seconds hardly any drape is left. Not to special.
The smell however is very nice. It is way stronger than that of regular Pilsener, and it contains way more hops. I smell some nice malty basic aromas. They give some nice sweets to the smell. On top of this there are nice rich hops aromas. The hop aromas are quite fruity, and give a nice citrus zest bitterness and refreshing citrus acidity. Lovely.
The taste of the beer isn't bad. It contains some nice sweet malts, but also a slight burnt bitter touch. There are also nice strong hops, giving both bitterness and refreshing acidity. The beer is a touch to bitter, bringing it slightly out of balance.
Palate of the beer is average. Light body, slick texture and high carbonation. The bitterness of the beer gives it a rather dry character, of which I'm not sure if I like it. The finish of the beer has some nice fruity hops, but again strong bitters. I don't mind a bitter beer, but this one is just slightly out of balance. rodbod (418) - Motherwell, SCOTLAND - AUG 27, 2017
The aroma is quite savoury, and the malt is rather yeasty. It has that distinctive lagered note. The taste is mid bodied, with sweetish malt, and it’s not very lager-y.
malty. A decent brew.
