Flame Runner is brewed with ingredients sourced from each of the five continents. It’s a clean and refreshing 3.9% pale ale with a spicy citrus and subtle ginger aroma and a good malty backbone balanced by an orange peel bitterness. We’ve used malted barley from Europe, hops from Australasia and spices from Africa, Asia and America.

Leighton (22307) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 26, 2012
Cask at Hamilton Hall, JDW, London. Pours clear, yellow-orange with a frothy white head. Aroma holds some tangy melon, orange, wet grass and toasty dough. Light sweet flavor with faint spice reminiscent of ginger, mild doughy malts, some orange rind. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Fairly dry to finish, lightly sweet with a nice hop edge of grass and citrus, soft ginger essence, some biscuits and dough. A pretty solid effort here. Lots of character given the low ABV, and the balance is right on. Nicely done.

Cask (The more northern JDW, Canterbury)
Sweet breakfast cereal aroma - sugarpuffs. Tastes just as sweet and cereally. Deadly dull. Sweetish finish. Typical Adnams, alas.

Cask conditioned at The Walnut Tree, Norwich. Amber with white head. Quite a basic biscuity bitter, malty, dryish, hints of spice but nothing to get a hold of. Lasting bitterness. Ok.

Cask conditioned air dispense Holborn Whippet London 17/07/12. A golden beer with a white head and lacing. House yeast present as usual with a decent fruity flavour and good hops. Nicely balanced flavours which is sessionable and unassuming. Late ginger lurking. Pretty good.

Cask by handpump at Cask & Barrel, Edinburgh - clear deep golden, creamy white head, biscuit and fruity aroma and flavour, also hint of resin, medium body, prolonged bitter aftertaste

stravale (3145) - Co. Westmeath, IRELAND - AUG 18, 2012
Cask @ Castle Tavern, Inverness
Amber, clear, thin white head, some lacing
Aroma - light spicy hop, some lemonade, slight gingerbread
Taste - Some Shandy Bass (!), lemon citrus, soft spicy, soft gingerbread, bit peppery, touch of caramel malts, soft biter hop
Palate - soft carb, thinnish body. Finish as main flavour, quite dry, light bitter tail
Overall - Refreshing - it just reminded me of Shandy Bass, with that hint of ginger

Served in the Kings Head, Clapham on the morning the Olympic Torch passed by and drunk whilst watching the torch go by.. Light and golden in colour, white head and a fair amount of carbonation. Nose is straw, light citrous, grainy malt. Taste is very light, touch citrousy golden ale, ginger, orange.

[Cask at the Ribs of Beef, Norwich] Amber with a moderate off-white head. Sweet grain fudge at first, leading to a growing fruitiness (orange and stewed apple) and a lingering dusty straw bitterness in the finish. A pleasant enough session bitter that falls a little short of the high standards that Adnams have been setting of late.

undercurrent25 (2202) - Barnton, Cheshire, ENGLAND - AUG 9, 2012
A light and blonde ale, fairly average, some strawberry tastes on the palate
