Ghost Ship is a ghostly pale ale which takes its inspiration from Adnams 600-year-old haunted pub, The Bell. Brewed with a selection of malts - Pale Ale, Rye Crystal and Cara. We use Citra, and a blend of other American hop varieties to create some great citrus flavours. Bronze Medal Winner at The International Brewing Awards 2013, Silver Medal winner at the 2014 International Beer Challenge and Gold Medal Winner at The Indie Beer Can Awards 2014 (Contains barley & rye). Available (pasteurised) in 500ml bottles and 440ml cans.

This one pored into a pint glass and has a golden amber color. The aroma is almost a spice with nodes of hops. The flavor is the same spice with nodes or hops and finishes a little bitter. It flows across the palate with slight carbonation. Overall a very good beer from Adnams, I will drink this one again.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with small white head. Aroma: malty, hay, caramel, dust. Taste; watery, caramel, rotten wet hay, sweetish-sourish-bitterish, unbalanced. Thin plus body. Bitterish finish. Messy brew.

From a 5 litre mini-keg, purchased from Tesco Gateshead that I took to a Christmas party. Served in a plastic glass, for shame. Gold with a white pillow of a head. Citric aroma and flavour, with a cereal malt base coming from the rye. Some herbal notes. Uncomplicated quaffer perfectly fit for purpose.

500ml bottle. Clear golden beer, medium white head. Nose is hoppy, messy malts and wet caramel, dough. Sickly malt and caramel, mild hops. Drinkable, but eh.

UPDATED: DEC 21, 2016 Amber color, opaque. Approaching the glass to your nose feels the scent of citrus fruits immediately. From the first sip hints of tropical fruit, grapefruit. Good persistence in the mouth. Generally a beer with a good balance between sweet and bitter finish. Colore ambrato, opaco. Avvicinando il bicchiere al naso si sente immediatamente il profumo di agrumi. Dal primo sorso sentori di frutti tropicali, pompelmo. Buona persistenza in bocca. In generale una birra con un buon equilibrio tra dolce e finale amarognolo.

From a 440ml can. Not sure what a ghostly pale ale is but I am a fan. Pours a perfect clear amber with a decent head and carbonation. Initially powerful citrus and peach fruit and hops aroma which fades. Initial fruit taste leading to lasting layered caramel malt back palate. Frothy but balanced sweet bitterness combination mouthfeel. Medium body. Great beer from a can. This is a real treat.

Tangy ale. Crispy with spicy hops. Surprisingly well conditioned for a can. High on carbonation but still remains smooth.

500ml bottle. Pours a copper colour with small but lingering white head. Strong citrus aroma, lemon, grass and caramel malt. Medium sweet and light to medium bitter, nicely balanced. Slightly thing texture wise but very drinkable. A nice brew!
