The hops in Innovation are the stars of the show. We used Boadicea, Columbus and Styrian Goldings to create punchy grapefruit flavours and aromas of tropical fruits. These are backed up by wheat and pale ale malted barley which add spicy, biscuit flavours and a slight touch of sweetness. The outcome is a wonderfully moreish IPA, packed full of flavour. Silver Medal Winner - The Stockholm Beer Festival 2013. (Contains barley & wheat).

Drunk as M&S Winter IPA at home. Very, very good flavours and my standout winter special from M&S. A true English IPA. Malt, hops, great mouthfeel and a bitter flavour that lingers. It went particularly well with a Chinese takeaway.

Sharezee from RD. another good IPA with malty, biscuit backbone and orange and grapefruit hopping. Nice

FCox143 (44) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - JAN 31, 2017
Has a lightly hazy dark orange colour with a small white head. Aroma is mild hops and pine, very slight hint of grapefruit. Taste is a very standard IPA - some citrus some tropical fruits with grass undertones. Basic, but nice.

Grumbo (2948) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - JAN 30, 2017
Bottle as the M&S Southwold Winter IPA. Poured cloudy dull amber colour with a short lasting off-white head. Aroma of biscuit, tropical fruit, and hop. Medium sweetness, medium bitterness, touch of tropical fruit sourness. Medium body, sticky texture, carbonation is soft. Has a light spiced finish. Certainly not an attractive brew, but very moreish.

phfyysik (1274) - Tartu, ESTONIA - JAN 27, 2017
Pours amber with white head. Aroma is malty, sour grass, citrus, fruits, some resin. Taste is grass, sourish, fruits, silage, citrus, herbs. Nice beer!

suurjuust (3540) - ESTONIA - JAN 15, 2017
330ml bottle. Slightly hazy orange pour, medium to small off-white head. Nose is sweet malt, fruit and citric hops. Flavor is pine and lemon peel, hop bitterness, malty sweetness and yeast notes in the finish. Drinkable, but pretty dead and boring.

F: normal size, light off-white, good retention. C: deep gold, clear. A: malt, tangerine, grapefruit, passion fruits, biscuits, oranges. T: tangerine, hint of grapefruits, tropical fruits, light caramel, hint of passion fruits, hint of spicy, medium body, good carbonation, oily mouthfeel, good balanced and tasty IPA, 0,5l bottle (as Marks & Spencer Southwold Winter IPA) from M&S in Brussels.

AndreasP (277) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 15, 2016
Standard English ipa with a good balance of malt, fruity hop aroma and piney bitterness. More subdued than its American relatives.

From M and S as Southwold Winter IPA. Appearance - cloudy amber with a nicely proportioned head. Nose - biscuits, light sweet spice, dried oranges and raisins. Taste - more sweet spice and dried fruit. Like hot cross buns. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry balanced finish. Overall - lovely ale, falls into old ale as well as ipa.
