UPDATED: NOV 2, 2016 A shame this was retired. I rather enjoyed it. Maybe some of the other users got old bottles but the one I tried back in the day was very drinkable with a distinctly nutty flavor. Serving: Bottle
From old tasting notes. Hazy orange brown color. Creamy tan head. Soft caramel malt nose. Fruity, toasted malt flavor hints at caramel and currants. Very tasty with a silky mouthfeel. Smooth spicy hop finish. khayman70 (153) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - DEC 19, 2002
Very malty nose upon opening the bottle. The flavor was not great, and had only a hint of nut in the finish. Not my favorite of the nut browns. Crit (3996) - Surrey, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 16, 2002
Malt nose. Unpleasant malt fore and mid with a nutty finish. Skred (107) - Houma, Louisiana, USA - APR 1, 2002
This appears to have been an old bottle. Dark brown, rather cloudy -- not sure if it’s bottle conditioned or just old. Aroma and flavor are very malty, low carbonation, not much head. Decent, but not great. The shortcomings present may be due to its age, and I’m not sure if this beer is still made. If not, it’s a shame, as even this old bottle was very drinkable.
