Cask; Seasonal - June to August. Retired after the summer of 2011. his is a blonde ale, brewed with East Anglian Pale Ale malt and English hedgerow hops. Light and crisp with a lovely biscuit backbone, perfect for the summer. A distinctively different summer bitter delicious served cool. Perfect accompaniment to white fish, prawn & curry dishes. A delicate palate with hints of lemon. Brewed to celebrate all that’s great about the British Summertime!

Grumbo (2948) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - JUL 19, 2017
Cask at the Greyhound, Ipswich. Pours pale gold with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, hop, grain, fruit and grass. Toward heavy sweetness, light bitterness. Light body, watery texture, soft carbonation. Had this a fair few times years ago and I remember it being a lot better back then.

Cask at Prince Charles, Euston. Very warm, in fairness. Malt heavy, and quite metallic. Some floral hop aroma.

Cask half at the King’s Tun, Kingston. Pours golden yellow with a white head. Malty aroma and taste with biscuit. Sweet finish

Cask - pale yellow with decent white head. No carbonation. Fruity aroma, good mouthfeel, very easy drinking - light consistency - refreshing. Ok though weak aftertaste.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol March 2017. Golden in colour, with a small, off-white, head. A thin tasting pale ale, with a hint of stone fruits, lager malts and moderately bitter finish. Dull all round and way below Adnams’ normal standards.

Cask at Arnold Machin (JDW), Newcastle under Lyme. Pours golden with a white head. Sharp citric golden ale. Too harsh.

UPDATED: MAR 30, 2017 Pours a clear gold colour with a small thin white head. Lemon and light malt aroma. Light biscuity taste, some citrus and some dryness grassy hops in the finish.

Cask, festival ale, 1/3 pint, hand-pulled at Hengler’s Circus, Glasgow on 29 Mar 2017, resiny, light citrus aroma, golden with a very thin white head and excellent thin film of lacing, biscuit, citrus flavours, creamy with a sweet aftertaste.
