A festive 3.9% abv scarlet red ale brewed with a blend of Pale Ale, Cara and Black Malts and hopped with Citra and Cascade. This beer has a citrus aroma, with slight toffee notes on the palate and a dry finish. What’s the story? Shingle Shells is brewed to celebrate the festive season.

pint. clear dark ruby/chestnut with thin beige head. aroma is wet carpet, dough and weak spices. taste is weak hops, nuts and malts. didn’t really enjoy this one as much as i have other xmas beers.

Cask at the Garden Gate NW3. Reddish brown in colour. Quite a pleasant amber bitter with a malty backbone and some spicy and reasonably bitter hop. Not bad.

Cask at Victoria Station Spooneria, 24/12/14. Chestnut brown topped with a moderate beige swirl. Nose is biscuit, perfume, light coffee notes, nutty. Taste comprises biscuit malt, toffee, brown sugar. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with light bitterings and some faint hop tunes. Adequate but not as good as most of Adnams more recent offerings.
