COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In August 2011, our Head Brewer Fergus posed the question Would you drink a 2.8% abv beer? on our website. From over 50 comments, the majority of you said yes, you would be happy to drink such a beer. So Fergus created Sole Star, a full-flavoured yet lower abv style. As well as benefiting from a reduced duty rate because of its low abv, its ideal as a lunchtime pint for the responsible drinker. Brewed with Pale Ale, Crystal, Black and Munich malts which are toasted to add more flavour. We use Chinook and Cascade hops to add bitterness to balance out the sweetness. (Contains barley).

Clear amber beer with a thin head. A mild aroma with a citric edge to it. The flavour is also not especially strong though thats probably to be expected. Citrusy and slightly hoppy as well, its not anything special but its quite pleasant for a fairly low-alcohol beer.

Clear nutty color with a thick off white head. Looks good. Ok intensity in the aroma. Medium light body and an average carbonation level. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Some wort, bready, herbal and fruity flavor. Decent ale at only 2.7%.

Rune (12063) - Troms, NORWAY - MAR 6, 2017
500ml bottle from East of England Co-Op Foodstore, shared on the train from Norwich to Ipswich and Chelmsford. Clear golden-brown in body colour. Fair pearl white head. Vague taste profile of sweaty hops and mid-sweet malts. Taste of bread, caramel and some impact of leafy hop bitterness to the finish. Easy to drink. Not bad considering the low abv. (18.02.2017).

Bottle. For a 2.7% beer this is really very good. Actually for any abv beer this is very good. Dark brown in colour. Not much of an aroma. Excellent body. Rose Turkish Delight flavours. Short lived base bitter finish.
