A refreshing beer of real flavour - distinctively hoppy and dry with malt aromas. Delicious served cool. Adnams brewery has stood in the heart of Southwold for over six hundred years and "Southwold Jack" appears on our beer labels. He continues to guard over our longest-serving beer brewed here in Southwold on the Suffolk coast -The Bitter. Bitter goes well with roast meats and fish cooked in batter as the clean bitterness cuts through the slightly fatty notes and hence keeps the palate refreshed. Our Bitter also makes a good aperitif. Available (pasteurised) in 500ml bottles and 500ml cans.

Pretty good brew. Poured at a good temperature with a nice sized, foamy, frothy, fluffy, cream-colored head that settles after a bit and some lace. Color is a clear amber copper. Aroma is beery, malt, hop, toffee, caramel, fruit. Flavors much like nose and bitter up front, then carbonic tang with a little malt sweet under. Body and carbonation are good. Finish is like flavor, of average length and is very drinkable.

Bottle from the Folsom BevMo. Pours dark copper with a creamy beige head. Aroma is quite floral - suggests roses! Med body. Flavor is smooth caramel with some floral hop. A bit malty - but then thats the style. Finishes nearly dry. Nice brew.

Very smooth and soft ale that works just as good at the dinner table as in the sofa on its own.

Clear dark amber with a toffee colored head and nice horizontal streaks of lace. Basically an IPA with floral, rather than piney, hops. Once the flavor begins (dry malt and bitters), it continues to the finish. The finsih fades quickly and nicely. Good moderate brew.
