Pours a clear "bitter brown" with a half inch off white head. Fairly weak aroma, earthy with some malt sweetness. Taste is initially well balanced bitter hop and sweet malt, quickly gives to a distinctly earthy finish. A fair bitter. TheGent (656) - , Massachusetts, USA - JUL 24, 2012
bottle into a english pint glass. Color fist appeared light brown but showed more amber int he light, very clear and clean. Very fully bubbly head. Aroma is toast, burlap, touch of caramel. Taste starts malty sweet and berry. Finishes with some yeast and light bitter. Medium to full body. Tastes British. manuchampions (1244) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 17, 2012
500ml bottle. Pours a dark ruby brown with an inch of foamy tan head. Aroma is caramel malt, some toffee, something slightly vegetal (uh oh). Taste is bready malt, caramel, some yeast and a hint of sweetness. Slightly thin mouthfeel. Hops in the finish. Good for style but I prefer their Gunhill bitter which has more flavour for roughly the same strength of beer. drpimento (3714) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 4, 2012
Pretty good brew. Poured at a good temperature with a nice sized, foamy, frothy, fluffy, cream-colored head that settles after a bit and some lace. Color is a clear amber copper. Aroma is beery, malt, hop, toffee, caramel, fruit. Flavor’s much like nose and bitter up front, then carbonic tang with a little malt sweet under. Body and carbonation are good. Finish is like flavor, of average length and is very drinkable. Tide (4063) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 3, 2012

Bottle from the Folsom BevMo. Pours dark copper with a creamy beige head. Aroma is quite floral - suggests roses! Med body. Flavor is smooth caramel with some floral hop. A bit malty - but then that’s the style. Finishes nearly dry. Nice brew.
