Cask: Regular. Originally known as "Southwold Bitter", in 2000 became "Bitter", in early 2006 became "The Bitter", in 2008 returned to "Southwold Bitter" Was sold as "George Ale" for the George Inn in Southwark until 2007. A classic cask bitter: the choice of a growing number of discerning licensees. Fragrant aromas of finest English hops and malt. Dry but refreshing, with a distinctive lingering bitterness. Appetising and delicious. Adnams bitter is a category champion.

5 Litre Mini-Cask from Adnams Brewery shop. Hugely impressive Bitter for its modest strength. Taste: marmalade and sulphur. It has detectable aroma too.

08-09-17 // cask at The Mill, Cambridge, UK. Clear brownish beer. Small head. Bitter hop nose. Taste is light bodied, some lightly roasted malts with a bitter hop finish.

UPDATED: NOV 19, 2017 On tap (cask) at The Old Black Horse Inn, Houghton (Leicestershire) on 11-Nov-2017. Hazy golden amber colour with a small white head. Aroma of grain, malt and citrus. Light to medium body and soft carbonation. Taste of biscuit malt, citrus and hops. Light bitterness - smooth. Pretty good.

Cask at pub in Kent. A dark copper coloured pour with a creamy beige head. Aroma is wet grassy, silage, hay, brown sugars, nutty malts. Flavour is composed of rustic brown malts, grassy silage, brown bread. Palate is semi sweet creamy carbonation. Ok.
