COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
While for the classic "Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier" traditionally beech has been - and still is - used, the malt for "Schlenkerla Oak Smoke" is kilned with Oak wood. The resulting Schlenkerla Oak Smoke Malt has a smoother and more multi layered smoky note than the intensely aromatic Beech Smoke Malt. The hence complex smokiness in the "Schlenkerla Oak Smoke" is paired with the multifaceted bitterness of finest Hallertau aroma hops. With 8% alcohol and amber color it matures for months in the deep brewery cellars underneath Bamberg into a special treat for smoke beer lovers. www.Smokebeer.com

Bottle sample at smoked beers tasting at Beer&Beyond, Tel Aviv. Deep copper with beige head. The aroma has notes of smoke, wood, caramel, ripe fruits and some sausage. The flavor has notes of smoke, prune, wood, caramel, ripe fruits and apricot, sweetish. Dry, medium to full-bodied. Very enjoyable, excellent stuff.

Bottle sample at smoked beers tasting in Beer&Beyond shop. Hazy amber with a huge off-white creamy head. Awesome aroma of smoked meat and dark fruits. Taste is medium malty sweetness, smoked meat, caramel, prunes, dried apricots, molasses, superb balanced, alcohol is well hidden. Rather full bodied, smooth and dangerously drinkable. Great.

Bottle, courtesy of Carmen24, Gliwice. Note: a month after expiry date. Well, the devil’s not as black as he's painted... Smoke is significant and absolutely plays the first role, however, it hasn't overdominated the beer and would probably not offend anyone. Together with the malty sweetness, it constitutes a great marriage. Full-bodied, low carbonation, average bitterness in the aftertaste. Very interesting beer, a must for all geeks and that;s a shame I get it so late. PS. I am over with rating the beer's appearance, but here it deserves a voice: it looks nothing but 10/10

Amazing beer. It gives you a smokey journey, until it makes place for a very refined sweetness. King of the smoke beers! ---Rated via Beer Buddy (iOs)

UPDATED: OCT 2, 2017 Rødbrun i glasset. Spegepølse, rugbrød, malt i næsen. Smager lidt af fad og røg. Fin balance og mindre overvældende end jeg regnede med.

UPDATED: OCT 23, 2017 It's not all about the aroma, but man this is an incredible bouquet. Opening one of these at a bar is certain to get looks, thumbs up and admiration. Deep, rich smoky smell that reminds people instantly of sitting by a campfire. Pours a simple golden hue with minimal head and thin lacing. Taste instantly delivers the expected smoke mouthfeel explosively, which transitions a malty taste and a fruit finish. Make the this the last beer you drink on any night, because it will disturb anything you might have afterwards.
