COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
While for the classic "Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier" traditionally beech has been - and still is - used, the malt for "Schlenkerla Oak Smoke" is kilned with Oak wood. The resulting Schlenkerla Oak Smoke Malt has a smoother and more multi layered smoky note than the intensely aromatic Beech Smoke Malt. The hence complex smokiness in the "Schlenkerla Oak Smoke" is paired with the multifaceted bitterness of finest Hallertau aroma hops. With 8% alcohol and amber color it matures for months in the deep brewery cellars underneath Bamberg into a special treat for smoke beer lovers. www.Smokebeer.com

Poured into a pint glass. Transparent amber color, only the faintest head. Rich malt smell, lots of smoke, but a "clean" smelling smoke with a crispness to it. The smoke is first in the taste, followed by the traditional doppelbock maltiness, then the smoke overpowers the malt again. It is really a smoke show here. Fairly sweet throughout too. Soft texture, medium body, low carbonation but still tingles the tongue. The doppelback flavor is lost in the smoke and the appearance was average. Still a good drink.

Ar: Campfire smoke, medium-high intensity; toasty malt, with a slight red apple and pineapple fruitiness. Ap: Deep amber, crystal clear; medium tan head with good retention, leaving chunky trails of foam as it subsides, with a solid cap of suds. T: Big toasted malt with an underlying slightly sweet smokiness; richly malty; clean, firm alcohol; sweet-smoke interplay throughout; steely, herbal hop note, with a medium-low bitterness. P: Medium body with high carbonation; finish is medium-dry. O: This beer just screams "refinement"; the smoke and malt flavors are both powerful, but theyre excellently delineated yet complimentary; sweetness and malt richness create a wonderful doppelbock profile throughout.

Kolor: Bordowy, zamglony. Piana: Beżowa, średnio obfita, szybko się dziurawi i zaczyna opadać. Zapach: Wędzona szynka, drewno z ogniska i popił, trochę karmelu.

Czućlekki karmel i suszone owoce. Piwo bardzo pełne, treściwe i mimo że troszeczkę ciężkawe to jednak pijalne.

Aroma is dominated by bacony roastiness with notes of maltiness and wooden barrel. Deep amber in the glass with thick off-white head. Taste is semi dry with flavor of oak roastiness, a lot of smoked ham with noble, ashy background. Beer is very slick and extremely balanced.

European Beer Swap Tasting #10 o dziwo wydal mi się mniej treściwy niż urbock. mniej gładki. aromat i smak dymu z ogniska świetny. Leciutki karmel. Dobrze ukryte alko. Jest dobrze.

Bottle shared by Bvery, thanks buddy! Dark copper brown pour. Aroma is sick, smoked meat, some malt. Taste lets down a little, very good still. Great smoked beer.

1 pint 0.9 oz. bottle. Aroma is like opening a bottle of Liquid Smoke ... its just the scent of pure burned wood. Pours a cloudy, medium amber, with a light tan head that is tight and frothy, and lasts quite a while. Taste is medium sweet with a hint smoke, but I really cant make out any distinct flavors (which is unusual for me). It is medium bodied with a creamy texture. Carbonation is average and the finish is all smoke. Overall, it is an intriguing beer. Although, I do find it a bit too sweet for a smoked beer.
