On tap from wooden barrel at the brewpub. Pours cloudy brown to amber with generous white head. Aroma is yeasty, malty with some caramel and smokey tones. Flavor is malt, yeast, smoke, butter biscuits. Lots of tiny bubbles tinkering the tongue. Awesome.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Weicher, leicht röstiger Antrunk. Die typischen Rauchnoten sind mild, fast wässrig, sie werden auch mit der Zeit nicht intensiver. Herb wässrig, zum Ende milder, wenig getreidig. 11/9/10/9//9

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
No idea what this is supposed to actually taste like because the glass round stein I am drinking at 3 Floyds is definitely infected. Nice sour and tart cherry on the nose. Its a nice infection, no strong aceto on the nose. Flavor has not made it that far yet. Just a clean beer with a hint of sweet smoke and a zing at the end of the flavor. If his keg is a few months old, I guess the infection makes sense? I like it this way though. Looking over the other recent rates, other people are saying "cherry" and "leather" and I am pretty sure that is unintentional.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Zly Casy in Prague, poured into a lager glass.
Hazy light amber color with a nice fluffy white head.
Fresh grassy aroma, some tender smokiness and faint floral hops.
Light and sweetish malt flavor, low bitterness and mellow fruit (ripe pear) with some mold.
Medium body, a bit strange but OK.

3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours murky amber, no head. Sweet, smokey, mild. Smokiness is less pronounced than odor would have you believe. Bit of a disappointment, but still a decent beer. Just too mild.

Served on draft at The Birch, Norfolk. Pours a nearly murky brown color with a thin frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of leather, smoke, cherries and caramel. The taste is smoke, caramel, leather and a fruity finish. Medium bodied. Quite nice.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
light amber color. Slightly tart, nice lightly smokey flavor, caramel and dried strawberries. Good depth for what it is, but it doesn’t take me anywhere special.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at Coopers Ales. Cloudy amber-brown with a fine, high head. Lightly smoked nose, malty, bread, light cardboard. Light malt flavor, nice light smoke, a bit too much cardboard, but great body and very nice.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft to pint at Dutch’s. Looks good; a semi-transparent copper with off-white head that dissipates into lacing. Smells solid; smoke and citrus hops. Tastes slightly sweet and smoky. Average on the palate. Not my favorite style, but a good example of it nonetheless.
