Bottle. Pourse dark brown color with decent brownish head. Very aromatic. Smoke (smoked ham) and wood dominate the aroma. Very strong smoke flavor that overwhelms all other flavors. Thin bodied (much thinner than I expected). Dry finish. Defenatly a beer that has to be enjoyed together with different kinds of smoked meat.

Bottle, thanks to SinH4! Amber brown with a medium beige head. Ham, wood smoke, some malts, raisins, a hint of herbs, coffee and leather. Light sweetness, a bit of umami, light bitterness. Slick, light to medium body with pearly carbonation. The classic. A gateway drug into the world of Rauchbier. And apart from the smoke a delightful Märzen as well. On taste, Smells like your jacket after a night around a campfire. On taste, smoked malt, yes, by definition. Smoked meats, sure I can imagine that. Maybe some smoked nuts (though no one else says so). Or maybe it’s just smoked smoke. I like it.

Bottle. Colacolored with lasting whithe head. Aroma is massive smoked. Nothing else is possible to detect. Taste is also a lot of smoked, but some bacon and caramel there as well. Nice. adamnase (763) - Kronoby, FINLAND - AUG 6, 2017

500ml bottle. Pours a clear red-brown with a medium, creamy, long lasting, tan head that leaves curtains of lace. Aroma of smoked malt, bacon, wood and roast. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, caramel, smoke, meat and wood with a mildly bitter, ashy finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Very nice. These guys are experts when it comes to smoked beers, all are world class. AWS9 (726) - Mississauga, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 5, 2017
Draft. Quite a strong, smoky honey oak to this one. I found the smokiness perhaps a bit too much, but I like that they really swing for the fences with this one. Nice amber pour with tan foamy head. Vegetable oil, BBQ sauce finish. Probably only one you can have on occasion when in the mood, but a very decent effort. varanid99 (1257) - AUSTRALIA - AUG 1, 2017
Deep brown with a quickly dissipating thin tan head. Smoky, meaty aromas; had it side by side with the fastenbier and this is a lot more subdued. Taste is smoky bacon, woody, a little sweetness, mild, long smoky finish
