Sampled from 500ml brown bottle. A mahogany coloured brew with a sweet smokey bacon like aroma. Malty body with some bittereness and earthy and smokey finish.

Tap at Bud. Deep ruby brown, would be clear except for colour. Creamy beige head, great lacing. Wonderful smoked bacon and caramel aroma. Flavour of caramel malt with sweetness dried by smoked meats. Smooth feel, light and easy carried by light fizz, nice lingering bitterness and smoke, tickles the roof of my mouth like spiced food. The easiest smoked beer to down, dry and refreshing. Excellent.

Bottle. Clear brown with a frothy, beige head that lasts and laces. Aromas of smoke, wood, roasted malt, light caramel, bacon, and pepper. Flavor is smoke, roasted malt, bacon, light wood, caramel, pepper, and biscuit. Medium bodied, smooth with moderate carbonation and a dry finish. Lingering smoke.

Tastes like liquid bacon. Smoky, thick. Dark appearance. Unique among beers ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle. light brown with one finger head. huge smokey bacon aroma. Big smoke, caramel and brown sugar. I'm not a big fan of smokey beers, but it's clear that this is well executed. I wish the underlying beer had more character, but it's quite overwhelmed by the smoke flavor. Enjoyed, but would not seek out again.

For sure not everybody's favorite, but Rauchbier in general, and Schlenkerla in particular, are one of these extraordinary alternatives to the classic brews. Strong, distinct flavors of smoke and roast, smoked ham give this a very special note, without being too heavy. Well recommended!

BOTTLE. Ruby/Brown colour, pale white head.. Aroma & taste is all smoke, bbq & wheat?? I want to say wheat, prayed whisky vibe??.. Plenty of bacon as well.. Sauced Fire station specialty bar
