A very good brew. Far more palatable than most smoked brews. Retains the lovely malt character all beers have rather than simply being overly smoky. Like a good vienna with a smoked sausge backbone. G-rat
UPDATED: FEB 13, 2018 Ummm....this is off the chain. Indescribably good. Cross between a ripping dark ale and laphroaig. DraftMaestro2 (61) - Whiteley, Hampshire, ENGLAND - FEB 12, 2018
UPDATED: FEB 12, 2018 One of my favourite beers of all time. Bottle from Bitter Virtue. Dark smoky beer with lots of taste. Have drunk this at the brewery tap and hope to do so again! LakatosKE (686) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - FEB 8, 2018
on tap at Red Nose Pub. The beer is nicely mixing aroma and taste of heavy smoked bacon, tar with malt, caramel, nuts, red fruits notes and light hop notes. Surprisingly easily drinkable and tasty. DraftAromas7 (54) - SERBIA - FEB 5, 2018
Although I am not particularly a fan of smoked beers, this one I really liked. While you drink it, you feel the taste of barbecue smoke coming from the glass, followed by a pleasant sweetness and gentle texture of a quality beer. Bottle. Good one. RoBEERt92 (328) - Bytom, POLAND - FEB 1, 2018
Butelka. Piana obfita, kremowa, drobno i średniopęcherzykowa, opada do warstwy, koronkowanie słabe.

A wonderfully interesting beer, though not going on my essential list. It pours a clear, mid-dark brown colour, with not much head. The smell is rich and malty, oozing a powerful overtone of smoked ham. The smoked tone is very dominant in the taste, reminding me of smoked Bavarian or Austrian cheese--the ones with bits of ham in. This is very entertaining, but then my tastebuds began searching for the malty notes I associate with Bavarian brown beers, and they weren't much in evidence. So my opinion is that this is a wonderfully smoky beer--you're not going to be disappointed on the smoky front, as I have been with some supposedly British smoked beers--but that the smokiness dominates the taste so much as to inhibit the complexity of the beer. In short, for me the smoky flavour is admirably gung-ho, but at the expense of anything more layered. Definitely an experience, though--a fun beer, if not one I'd choose to drink often. franclh (102) - NETHERLANDS - JAN 26, 2018

Thoughts: Not bad. To be honest, first off it tasted like water from an ashtray full of cigarette butts, but after a while I started to like it. Would not buy again simply because it takes quite a while to get used to the taste. A tad bit too bland.
Pours dark brown, a little red. Fairly clear. Beige head. Smell is quite smoky; smoked ham and tar. Aroma is malty (bread, roasty), smoked ham, tar and a hoppy/bitter aftertaste (herbs, fruits). Sweet. Medium body. Lackluster in carbonation. A bit oily?
