COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
(First tapping every first Thursday of October) A smoked bock beer for Bamberg’s strong beer season (October through December). Matured for months in ancient rock-cellars underneath Bamberg and tapped freshly from the oakwood cask. Similar to, but much bigger than the classic Maerzen style.

Bottle bought 12/2017, bb 07/2018. Good head, beautiful mahogany. Aroma smoky with some dry fruit. Smoky, malty, slightly sweet taste. Quite full bodied, soft. Bitterness moderate, but develops to lasting dryness. Iam sure this is good. Rauchbier is just not my thing. Perhaps because I like smoked fish so much, and get confused.

bottle. aroma: smoked cheese , dried fruits, raisins, dark bread, molasses and light sulfur. medium body, medium-high bitterness, good drinkable beer- not so sweet like others bocks

(500ml bottle from Systembolaget) Pours extremely dark mahogany with a big beige head that fades to a cap with some lace. Aroma of . Flavour is somewhat sweet dark malt with dark bread and a little treacle tone, dry toasty roast, moderately smoky notes of campfire and subtle smoked ham, oak, pretty dry on the back end where the smoky, ashy notes overpower the malt. Low bitterness. Fairly light bodied with extremely low carbonation. A solid smoke beer, but for me it was not the match of either the Fastenbier or the doppelbock.

Klarowne. Barwa brązowa z rubinowymi refleksami. Piana fajna. W aromacie intensywna wędzonka - ognisko, może trochę wędlina. Poza tym słodkie, słodowe nuty. Fajne, niskie nagazowanie. W smaku słodkie. Na pierwszym miejscu nuty ciemniejszych słodów. W tle popiołowość i nuty dymu. Goryczka dobra, wyraźna, na średnim poziomie.

25.11.2017 – Drunk at site fresh from tap. Quite dark as Schlenkerla should be with a creamy white head (funnily it looks like Guinness commercial). Far wet woodfire causing smoke and woody tones. Creamy consistence. Light burnt caramel and ash. Next breaths releasing quite a lot of smoke, roast and woody aromas with a wariming finish.

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2017 Røg og bål i næsen. Smager af pølse, røgvarer. God sødme uden at blive kvalm. Den bedste i serien!

Pite z kranu. No co tu się wyprawia to ja nie wiem. Wędzonka wszędzie! Piwo ma dużo ciała i jest bardzo gładkie.

Clear dark chestnut, fat smoked and malty nose.
Sweet and light spicy bitterness.
Flavour: complex sweet malty, light roasted notes, some fruity malty notes, and, of course this ur-smokiness.
