Deep red/copper pour with a thin beige head. Smoky, meaty, bacon, woody aromas. Taste is smoky, bacon, sweetish (like a honey glazed ham), I reckon there is some blackberry but because it makes me think of campfire breakfasts in a particular place maybe I’m imagining that. Pours into nonic pint a dark mahogany tint, with a modest film. The aroma is like that of a campfire, both woody and burnt. The malty flavor is absolutely off the charts! The distinct taste of cured smoked ham married with a bittersweet cacao finish is not subtle in the least. Despite being packed with so much complexity, it goes down surprisingly easy. Nonetheless, I feel such guilty pleasure sipping this in the 90 degree California summer heat. I was gonna cellar this bad boy, but said screw it. This is a straight up man’s beer. Volcano beer. Nice aroma and smoked taste with dark brown/red color. Good for a rainy day.

Bottle. Clear, dark ruby body, high white head. Aroma of smoke, pine wood, toasted malts, sausages, cherries. Taste is lightly sweet, bitter, tart. Smoke, caramel, malts, cherries and cherry stones. Full body, smooth texture, moderately carbonated.
Nice smoked, greatly balanced.
Bottle 0.5l. Clear, dark copper to brown colored. AROMA- smoky, smoke of wood, touch of bacon. FLAVOR- lightly sweet, lightly smoky tart, smoke, burnt bread, touch of dark berries. Full bodied.

50cl bottle from Sip, Tallinn. Pours clear dark mahogany coloured with a modest, beige head. A bit milder smoke aroma than expected, but it’s still dominating. Malt, caramel and hints bonfire. 500ml bottle at the 2017 Cambridge Beer Festival. Dark mahogany/brown and translucent. Fair bit of carbonation but very little resultant head. Heavy smoke on the aroma but there is also a good dollop of chocolate malt. The bitter taste perseveres to the finish. It’s far from subtle but lovely nonetheless. Blackberry, burnt sausage, bitter chocolate and yest extract combine in the ambrosial aftertaste. A great beer, maybe a bit heavy for what it is but I expected that! Delicious. At Chappies social house. Pours dark dark brown with a paper tin white head. Aroma and taste. of toasted burnt wood and or smoked sausage. Finishes with continued liquid smoke. I appreciate the effort but not for me.
