Schlenkerla Smokebeer Wheat is an ale with light smoky aroma. As Bavarian wheat beers, it is being brewed with a mixture of both barley malt and wheat malt. The portion of barley malt is hereby a classic Schlenkerla smokemalt, while the wheat malt remains unsmoked. Served unfiltered with its natural haziness, Schlenkerla Wheat reaches its full aroma through bottle fermentation with fine top fermenting yeast.

Bottle @ Schlenkerla, Bamberg. Pours cloudy dark golden, with a big creamy, off white head. Aroma is burned malts, with bread, bonfire, as well as cocoa and caramel. Full body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is smoked malts with bread, caramel and wood. Dry, smoky notes through the finish.

From 50cl bottle. Pours a beautiful brilliant brown with a foamy dirt white head, eventually disappearing. Aroma is a nice mix of malty and smoked, but also figs and cherries. Body is average, with average carbonation. Taste is sweet to some extent, very low bitterness. Finish is relatively long, but not that great, as the beer warms up.

0,5 l bottle from Alko Arkadia, Helsinki. Appearance is Brown, cloudy and big white head. Aroma has mainly smoke. Taste has smoke too but also water and malts and overall sweetness. Well, basically dunkel weizen with smoke. This is a lighter smoke beer than the regular Märzen from the same brewery.

Smaakt naar gerookte spek. Voelt meer als een maaltijd dan een drankje. Niet mijn ding.

tanel025 (153) - ESTONIA - JUL 21, 2017
Brown beer with beige head. Aroma is roasty, reminds an old barn, some smoke. Taste is roasted malt. Aftertaste is strong smoke and it gets stronger with each sip. Though, taste is a bit watery and soft, I expected more. Little sweet, slight bitterness. Very drinkable but that smokiness needs some time for getting used to. Very interesting beer.

martjoobolut (4471) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUL 18, 2017
UPDATED: JUL 19, 2017 Bottle (from Koht, BB 11/2017). Pours copper with beige head. The head stays. Aroma is smoke, suasages, salt, malt, wheat. Flavor is sweet and bitter, smoke, wheat, sausages, fruits, banana. Finish is sweet wheat and smoke. Balance is excellent. Overall: great beer, 4.3 feels like underrate...

sarauckelman (542) - Durham, Durham, ENGLAND - JUL 9, 2017
Strongly smoked aroma. Cloudy dark amber/brown with no head. Starts off smokey, then dips into something a bit sweet, ends a bit smokey. Flavor proile is rather jagged. Medium bodied and fizzy.
