Tap. Light brown. Somewhat dirty looking. Tall offwhite head that collapses. Aroma is sweet malt and caramel. Some toffee. A lot of carbonation. Taste is more malty sweetness, caramel, toffee and some alcohol. Not a favourite, but ok for a dobbelbock.

Fra fat på Cardinaltreff, sep-11, sammen med Nøgne Ø’s utgave: et meget interessant møte, hvor Ægir gikk av med en knepen seier. Noe lysere enn NØ men bedre skum. Karamell- og nøtteaktig bokkølaroma og behagelig humleinnslag. Gode begge to, men Ægir hadde en rikere munnfylde. ej (1330) - Hauglandshella, NORWAY - AUG 5, 2012
Chocolate, bready malts, slight hints of dark fruits. Small tan foam. Creamy and soft on the palate. Almost no bitterness except a hint in the finish. daje (4535) - NORWAY - JUL 3, 2012
On tap at Amundsen, september 2011.
Dark brown, a bit lighter than Nøgnes version, thick light brown head.
Roasty aroma, spices, caramel. Sweet malty taste, with berries and fruit. Good bitter finish. RuneStumo (2710) - Haugesund, NORWAY - APR 24, 2012

On tap at Patricks . Red dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is alcohol, roasted malt, caramel, dried fruits. Flavour is sweet, alcohol, roasted malt, caramel, fruit, hop, apple, dried fruit. Bitter finish. Full body. Nice beer. Alexus (244) - Stavanger, NORWAY - OCT 21, 2011
On tap @ Cardinal. Deep brown in color. Great thick head which gives a beautiful lacing in the glass. Great aroma. Toffee, caramell and dark candi sugar present. Warming alcohol, but not too much. Great balance. Nice lingering aftertaste. Very good beer for the cold season! OleR (4849) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 17, 2011
From tap @Amundsen, Oslo. Dark brown with mahogny highlights. Dense, medium-sized sand-colored head. Smell of sweetish, strongly carmelized malts and dried yellow fruits. Medium malt body. Sweetish, with burnt, peppery caramel. A light minty bitterness underneath. Some fruit tones, too. Smooth-ish in the mouth. Mid-bodied. Alcohol warmth in the ending. An exciting and likeable interpretation of a Doppelbock. KnutAlbert (6792) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 16, 2011
Rich, malty, caramel sweetness.
Very rich. A warming beer for the cold season. Lovely glowing red. True to type, but a bit too sweet for me. thebeertourist (5189) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 9, 2011
Tap. Dark brown, small head. Malty nose. Sweet licorice flavours, lots of molasses. Great for a sweet tooth.
