Aroma is nice with smoke, wood and tar. Flavour is sweetish with toffee, tar, caramel, licorice, some berries and smoky notes. Not the most typical scotch ale. Nice, I like the smoky aromas here.

@Gyllenbock. Ingen stor doft men en ganska lätt rökig smak. Fin och len balans. Trevlig att smutta på.

Beautiful dark color, cloudy, minimal head, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, medium sourness, citrus and caramel or toffee. Balanced and good. Excellent. Bart (2938) - Brussels, BELGIUM - FEB 23, 2013
Draught @ Crowbar og Bryggeri, Oslo. Reddish brown coloured beer with some light to medium carbonation and a short dence almost off white head. Lighter sweet herby and bitter hoppy hinted aroma. Medium to full palate. Finish is malty hinted with a light herby touch. No big flavours but nicely drinkable. tfredvik (1939) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 18, 2013
Pours a hazy medium brown body with a small, light-brown head that soon reduces to a thin film, leaving some lacing. The aroma is strong and pleasant with a massive wall of caramel the first 15 seconds. Then the smokey part slowly takes over, and after a minute the caramel is far in the back while wood smoke, peat and a spicy touch are in front. Oh, I love it when aroma transformations like this happens! So, is it real, or is it just my slow brain struggling to decide what aromas it’s detecting? Anyway, there is no doubt that the taste is moderate sweet with just a light bitterness in the long-lasting finish. The strong flavours are dominated by wood smoke and peat, with additional caramel and some very nice notes of fruits and hops in the back. Medium to full body, a smooth and oily texture and a very soft carbonation. Lovely beer! Note that the smoke and peat in the aroma and flavour are sweet, mellow and gentle, and shouldn’t scare of people that don’t love smoked beers, like myself.
