Bottle from Alko Arkadia, Helsinki. Pours hazy light brown with a little brownish white head. Aroma has sweetish maltiness, some roasty and plenty of smoky notes and also some dark fruitiness - smokiness is surprising. Taste is very malty and smooth with a medium to full bodied palate. Smokiness is very much present but not overpowering; the taste also has bread and some sweetish fudge in it. This is actually quite nice to drink, I haven’t detected smoky notes from other scotch ales I’ve had but it suits this ale well. The prize in Alko is disappointingly high, however, even by their standards.

Bottle 0,5l. Pours a ruby copper colour with a big creamy off-white head. Aroma is leather, toffee, quite strong fruity and ripe fruity notes as well. Flavour is prunes, leathery, toffeeish, some smoked wet wood and a nice fruity and floral bitterness to it as well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Super dark and red bery aroma. Pretty pleasant palate - very full. a bit swee, nice and full, touch sharp and berry-ey. Slightly wooly-ey smokiness, guess this is tring to be a "scothch" feel. Yeah, like the way they’re going. Nice sweet wooliness in the finishh. Doesn’t say 7%, nice beer, could drink several.

Lukter søtt og røyk. Mørk brun uklar farge. Søt maltsmak, røyksmak trenger godt gjennom. Behagelig tørr ettersmak. Blir ikke siste gang jeg nyter denne. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

50cl bottle from Alko. Mahogany color, thick latte head. Dark fruits, bread, peat, malt in aroma, I like it. The beer has bready malt, toffee, sweetness, wood. Finish is long and quite sweet with dark fruits. At the same time mouthdrying. Great brew.

The first thing that came to my mind was Oskar Blues’ Old Chub. I’m a big fan of that and this was a real winner as well. Less alcohol and maybe for the better. Where Old Chub knocks your teeth out, this one just slaps you with it’s glove. Big robust flavor. Must drink! Thanks for the hookup Lajos!
