COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

The first thing that came to my mind was Oskar Blues’ Old Chub. I’m a big fan of that and this was a real winner as well. Less alcohol and maybe for the better. Where Old Chub knocks your teeth out, this one just slaps you with it’s glove. Big robust flavor. Must drink! Thanks for the hookup Lajos!

PapaVillum (943) - Valby, DENMARK - JAN 31, 2017
---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rich golden dark brown color. Very little foam, some sediments but not bad for unfiltered ale.

50 cl bottle in Grebbestad. Brown a bit hazy beer with a small beige head. Leather, malty, chocolate, dark fruits and a bit smokey aroma. Sweet, leather, smokey, malty, raisin and a bit hoppy flavour. Nice beer with a lot of different tastes :-)

020517. Can from Bucket Boys. Yet another very good beer from this Norwegian brewery. Aromas of toffee, vanilla and caramel fill the nose with a trace of alcohol in there as well. Warms the mouth and throat with a honey like sweetness. Looks the goods in the glass with a caramel toffee colour and an oily swirl of foam across the top.

Taster EBCF. This is very nice stuff. Pours deep gold/amber, soft foamy head. Big prune and soft fruit aroma, some syrup and honey. Lovely soft, sweet and raisin taste. Really, really good.

Bottle. Pours a deep, dark nougat brown body with a medium creamy off-white head, with some durability. Nose is peated malts, caramel and hints of bread. Taste is dark malts, caramel, peat, smoked ham and hints of toffee and licorice towards the end. Wonderfully smooth and very easy-going for a beer which is definitely bordering on the "smoked" category. Velvety, medium full body. Long smokey aftertaste with substantial amounts of roasty peat tones lingering. A very nice beer from Ægir, which definitely adds another dimension to their already diverse selection.

Bottle at home. The colour is clear deep brown, with a very small beige head. Aromas of dark wood, brown sugar, leather, barbecue sauce and hint of smoke. More smoke in the flavour along with burned wood, oak, leather, dark chocolate and alcohol. Slick and smooth mouth feel. Bitterness = light+. A fantastic beer in both aroma and taste.
