hawthorne00 (3719) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - DEC 18, 2016
Bottle, 12C. Dark brown with a light tan head that’s soon a scant coat. Aroma of spiced chocolate, some dried fruit, fudge. Some overt alcohol. Smooth texture, low carbonation. Rich with mild roasted flavours, chocolate, some woody spices, fudge. Dries out enough that the richness doesn’t become cloying. Moderately bitter at the end. Alcohol is warming and sticks out a little too much at the end. Certainly pleasant flavours but doesn’t offer enough for its strength.

Bottle. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of licorice, coffee, dried fruit, dates and alcohol. Fabulous palate, full body, soft carbonation, sweet finish. Flavour is mostly sweet, the alcohol is quite evident, but lovely taste of coffee and chocolate too. This is good.
