English: Mellow and balanced, dark red beer with a character of nuts, chocolate and toffee. The taste comes from six different kinds of malt, and the beer is surprisingly easy to drink. Goes well with barbeque and cheeses.

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2013 Flaske kjøpt på rema1000.

Can from Beer52. Odd, heather sort of herbal aroma. Quite complex with good body, and a nice malty blend. Quite good, but its certainly not smooth.

Clear dark orange beer, standar carbonation, small white head. At nose mainly caramel notes such as toffee and nuts, slightly sweet, with a slight bitter flavor at the end, with a non memorable aftertaste.

Reddish amber beer with a thin, off-white head. Aroma has a bit of toffee, light fruit and malt.Taste has a bit more bite to it. Toast, caramel, apples, nuts and a dry, bitter finish with the nuts really coming through. Not too shabby.

Can, in a ’free’ Beer 52 trial box of Norwegian specialities. I’ve been fairly underwhelmed by what I’ve had from this brewery in the past. This one was pleasant if not entirely what I expected. Quite a sweet and malty affair, almost like a northern English brown with a slightly ’redder’ malt bill, toasty and caramelly rather than malt loaf, and an earthy hop note. Slipped down nicely. Not the expected crafty American amber but nice to drink nonetheless!

Light caramel, toffee and chocolate notes in this pleasant if uninspiring amber ale.
