Grima (2506) - Merzkirchen, RLP, GERMANY - SEP 16, 2014
Bottle from a trade with Cunningham, huge thanxxx my friend!
Pours amber colored with creamy white head. Smell has lots of caramel and strong fruity hops. Starts very sweet-caramelly, sugary, fruity-spicy hoppy with a hint of alcohol and perfume. Finish is very sweet and caramelly, with some slight fruity hops and a touch of alcohol. Maybe a bit overaged...

Ratatosk, the squirrel that ran up and down the World Tree, Ygdrasil, delivering insults to and from the bird in the branches and the snake, or adder at its roots, was for all intentions, the norse equivalent to the internet. That being said, this beer is a link to the old and to the new. It tastes like something the old Gods would have demanded, and probably deserved, for being so awesome, and it also tastes modern, like something a really clever American who knows modern craft brewing would think of making in some tiny village at the end of a fiords in the deepest valley he could find in Norway. Which, it is, and he did. A whopping 9% tastebomb that hits all the right places, i can’t stress how much the beer impresses me. The only thing that annoys me about it, is, well, I can’t seem to find it these days. If I did, I’d drink it often, there’s no doubt about it.

Marduk (8219) - Reval, ESTONIA - APR 23, 2014
500ml bottle (shared by FatPhil, thanks). Cloudy orange color. Medium size, yellowish head, stays. Malty, sweet, raisins, caramel, fruity aroma. Fruity, melon, sweet, hops, cupcakes in taste. Way too sweet.

500ml bottle (Alko Arkadia, Helsinki)
Had to throw nearly a third of the bottle away as it was so yeasty. Rich orange, small head. Nice fleshy fruit hop and citrussy aromas. Slick palate, carbonation can’t cut through it. Very boring taste, just sticky caramelly malts, and a bucketload of hops. Way too sweet. Covers the alcohol well, or should I say smothers the alcohol. Improves a little as it warms as it mellows slightly. But still not good, way too sweet.

Bottle. Creamy White good mostly lasting head. Amber colour. Moderate malty and heavy hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate. Very nice.

Habanero (4798) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK, DENMARK - DEC 6, 2013
Bottled. Pours hazy amber with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma of citrus, caramel and piney notes. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and bitter. Medium bodied, oily text. and soft carb. An excellent 2 x IPA.

Really rich and powerful tasting double IPA. Nice bitterness, hoppy as hell. A sure winner!

Kavu (5038) - Helsinki, FINLAND - NOV 30, 2013
0,5l bottle from the flagship Alko. Pours cloudy amber with a low head. Aroma is malts and fruits. Flavor is malts, fruits and a hoppy finish. Decent.

TBone (18106) - Pori, FINLAND - NOV 28, 2013
Bottled 500ml Arkadia. Hazy deep amber color, small off-white head. Strong sweet hop-malty aroma. Piney-syrapy. Full-bodied. Sweet, malty, piney-resiny. Alcoholic finish. Too sweet DIPA for my liking, but not a disaster of course. Lacks also depth of its "brother", Nogne #100.

mikkopen (1192) - Guelph, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 17, 2013
500 ml bottle. Cloudy amber colour, thick off-white head. Caramel-malty aroma with sweet exotic fruits, citrus and notes of pine. The flavour is sweet, caramel-malty, with peaches and citrus, and a resiny hoppy finish. A bit too sweet for my taste, but otherwise an excellent beer.
