English: Aegir was the brewer for the gods in Norse mythology. Ægir Brewery offers a number of beer types - from light to dark. Interestingly, Ægir Brewery with its heathen theme has now brewed a traditional abbey beer. Originally, Dubbels were brewed by monks. The beer is light brown in color, medium heavy with a flavor of dried fruits and spices from the yeast. Enjoy the beer with strong cheeses and robust food, or alone just for the pleasure.

Eructoblaster (4329) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 6, 2013
Bottle - 500ml. Hazy copper body with a thin off-white creamy head. Nice malty/hoppy aroma with grainy hints. Alcohol is very well hidden. Taste carries geainy, herbal, and brown sugar notes. Ends with a decent bitter/grainy finish. Enjoyable, but not sure this corresponds to a Dubbel.

Shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. Poued dark brown with big light tan head. Lots of carbonation. Nose of caramel malts with spices, with orange zest, and cardamon. Cinnamon too. Medium body . Smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is spicy and complex but it hangs together well. Some fruit and there is chocolate in the finish, and in fact lots of it. Overall a very tasty beer.

Bottle from Hayduke. We had it together via facebook chat. I rolled this before opening and there was plenty of sediment on the bottom of the bottle. An aroma of spices that is very nice. Caramel, yeast, fruit. It is kind of a dunkel but with spices. I taste caramel, raisins, orange zest, cardamon, cinnamon, yeast. Sweetness is fairly big and alcohol is a bit obtrusive. As the beer warmed it became more sour and chemical tasting. That was unfortunate after a strong start. Near the finish the feel became powdery and chocolate was tasted. This was complex and interesting and it kept bringing different flavors with temperature changes.

0.5 l bottle, thanks hanniku! Slightly hazy reddish brown color. Sweet caramel aroma with raisins. Sweet caramelly, nutty, toasty, raisins and slightly fruity taste with some peppery spiciness and hint of umami type of yeastiness. Medium to full body, rounded palate. Quite drinkable dubbel, there is some yeastiness which I’m not so fond of.

(Bottle, 0.5 l, from Alko Arkadia, 20130328) The beer poured brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and almost white. Aroma had malts, hops and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, hops, malts, caramell, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. Quite hoppy for a dubbel. A bit confusing but not hard to drink.

(Bottle, 0.5 l, at Pikkulintu) The beer poured dark reddish brown and almost clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had spicy Belgian yeast and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The taste was like the one of a random Belgian strong ale. The flavours I found were Belgian yeast, sugary sweetness, malts, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. This beer was too sweet and spicy yeastiness was too overwhelming.

0,5 bottle from Vinmonopolet Sola. Dark brown body with fluffy nice high head. Nose is mature fruit, alcohol, malty and rich. Taste is malty with more mature fruit and strong alcohol. Dry maltyness in the ned. Really like it.
