At cellar temperature and into a tulip. A solid yeast pack holds on the pour. The body of beer a shimmering, deep, ruddy copper. Head is hardy; holding for much of the length a mere half centimetre of pine coloured cream. The legs as you swirl the glass are incredible. Treacly, sweet, golden syrup and caramel on the nose atop hints of peach and apricot, orange blossom, sherbet and boozy sherry. Big body, meaty and viscous with a light spritz of carbonation up front and a lengthy rough malt, burnt sugar and sherry warmth to the finish. Plenty of pale stonefruit and caramelised, sharp and savoury fruit mince coming through. It has a lengthy sweetness that compliments the bitter fruit and chunky malts. Light earthiness and hint of new oak settles in. With all that’s going on it works harmoniously together. For 13.2% ABV it drinks of a barley wine of moderate strength. Delectable yet not overly complex - it has mellowed in the past few years. It just works. A lovely barley wine! (50cL, 2012 vintage)

Cloudy dark amber color, cloudy. The aroma is very corky, the flavor is malty, sweet, for a good body, but overall it’s not aging too well. Warm, alcoholic final.
Nice but old.
2012 vintage. Dark brown with a light beige head. Aroma is dark fruits, soy sauce, hint of sherry, light oxidation. Medium bodied, lightly sticky mouthfeel, sweet on the palate with a hint of spice on the backend. Taste is caramel, soy sauce, sherry, spice, citrus zest. Mmm. Bottle - Vintage 2012 - Light oxidization, sweet, touch of minty notes and caramel. Hazy brown with a light beige head. Light oxidization, some herbal notes, caramel and a long finish. A bit oxidized but nice.

Bottle. Pours a dark orange/amber with a beige head. Aroma of toffee, butterscotch, toasted malts, bitter nuts and weak booze. The taste has notes of toffee, butterscotch, caramel, bitter nuts, plums, dark sweet fruits, alcohol and a bitter hoppy end. A bit on the boozy side but still an ok sipper.
