Franzen (590) - SWEDEN - FEB 28, 2015
Caramelly chocolate aroma, bit weak in aroma but might be too cold. Some alcoholic notes in aroma as well. Taste starts with lots of milk chocolate finish has some of the chocolate with some balancing bitterness although a bit to bitter. Nice palate and appearance but too hoppy and not as complex as a barley wine should be.

GlasgowTAD (1768) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - FEB 27, 2015
Bottle received from a Norwegian trade with a redditor. Pours a deep waxed-teak decking mahogany red with a dense light-brown head which lingers around for a few minutes before receding to a frothy layer. Aromas are incredible - mango, peach, slight apple, toffee and caramel. Taste is caramel, toffee, malt sweetness and slight sweet red apple. Full bodied with a rich mouthfeel.

nimbleprop (8297) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - DEC 25, 2014
50cl bottle via Winter Secret Santa 2014. Pours a translucent, mahogany amber with a thin ring of white head. Nose is so spot on, candy, malt, chestnut honey, brandy, sherry, toffee, orange, spruce, juniper. Flavor follows right along, honey comb, toffee, orange, spruce, marzipan, candy, mild booze, some grappa. Finishes with some sweetness and some booziness but super smooth and SCARY easy to drink, even at 13%.

pentaz (1264) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 3, 2014
Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a diminishing tan head. Aroma is raisins, roasted malt, dark fruit, caramel, booze, herbs and ripe fruit. Taste is moderate+ bitter and near moderate sweet. Full body and sticky. Finishes with a firm bitterness and burn. I’d prefer less bitterness.

PsychoGunnar (201) - Bergen, NORWAY - OCT 12, 2014
Smells of soy and barley wine. The taste is dominated by alcohol, with hints of soy, brussels sprouts and some liquorice. Vinous mouth feel, sticky like red wine. The aftertaste is very alcohol-intensive with a sour hint of soy. Beer for big boys and alcoholics.

aenima (335) - Askim, SWEDEN - OCT 9, 2014
Aroma of honey and caramel. The taste is dominated by honey. Hints of caramel and toffee in the background. Nothing special.
