Tasted from the bottle bon 13/11/2012, bought @Vika vinmonopolet, Oslo Aroma is quite intense, all sorts of classic barley-wine notes, but with such a pleasant, elegant nuances on top. Taste is immensely overwhelming, very intense and complex. Just the only slight downside is a hint of alcohol in the end. Recommended+ ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle thanks to Palme. Pours a slight cloudy, amber colored beer with a small, off white head on it. Aroma is full of caramel, sweet malts, some molasses and very ripe apples. It gets way better as it warms up. Flavour gets from a lot of alcoholic sweetness at low temperature, to full, malty aromatic sweetness with a massively cloying thick mouthfeel to it when drank at room temperature. I did finish the 0,5 liter bottle by myself and it took me well over two hours. But it were two hours well spent.

Bottle at Mumsig Miniprovning, Göteborg. Hazy amber/copper beer with a small beige head. Malty aroma, bready, vinous, fruity, grainy notes. Malty bready flavor, vinous, spicy notes, some alcohol. A bit too much alcohol, and not totally interesting.

UPDATED: JUL 9, 2012 Very complex beer! Aroma of alcohol, caramel, grass and raisins. Aftertaste is caramel, and some hops. Well balanced though. Quite easy to drink, dispite the high avb. Have had this cold and in room temperature, It’s a extreme different taste, way better when it’s room temperature. Never had a beer where the difference is that present.

I knew a guy named Thir once. He would have liked this one, I think. Clear amber color. Aroma of boozy caramel. Taste is like snorting pure caramel, and a bit of spice. East to get hammered drinking half a liter of this bad boy. Best shared.

Bottle at Grunnerloka. Clear amber beer. Big head - very pale tan. Smooth dry palate. Sweet malt - quite an intense caramel. Some hop, well buried. Inevitably some alcohol aniseed and warmth but generally copes with it’s high abv. Some slightly burned toffee in the head. Drinkable big ol’ barleywine!

From bestillingsutvalget at Vinmonopolet. Pours a hazy amber color body in the glass with a thin off white head. Sweet and fruty smell of brown sugar, orange and port. Quite alcoholic on the nose. Delicious taste of brown sugar, clementines/orange, hops and creamy caramel. The alcohol is well integrated in the taste and the overall impression of this "barleywine" is very impressive indeed!

Tap (Pikkulintu, Helsinki, Olutopas Pikkujoulu 2011) - shared by Janne - thanks!
6 Huge toffee aroma, some fleshy fruit. And woh - if it’s not cold, the alcohol is huge.
3 Flat dark orange.
6 Sweet honey, thick and with some grains. Alcohol again biiiig.
3 Sticky and sweet. Bit too boozy, leaves you afaid to breath on a candle.
12 Covers 13% quite well by tasting of 11%. Gee, thanks.
