Bottled. Cloudy amber color, short head. Aroma of caramel and toffee, some piney hop, like a soft barley wine. In taste it’s medium sweet and medium bitter, but actually lacks a bit of both to be in the barley wine category for me. The alcohol is well hidden though. Not bad, just expected a bit more of everything. Simonsen (1267) - NORWAY - MAY 18, 2013
Flaske drukket hjemme. Mørk brun kaffefarget, tynn beige skumrand. Smaker lakris, kaffe, eple, eik, karamell. En god del alkoholsmak. En veldig god øl Eveley (1) - Tønsberg, NORWAY - MAR 19, 2013 does not count
Cloudy, orange-ish brown color, a malty, sweet, flowery bouquet and taste. Intensely sweet, andno hint of alcohol at all. Dangerous, had it not been so filling. Recommended. Fspirit (54) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - FEB 19, 2013
If you want the definition of a Barley Wine you got to try this one. Little white head, dark brown and redish color. It tastes like very strong caramel combined with dried fruits. Maybe apricot, mango and dates. I can not taste the alcohol in this one, and it’s so easy to drink that it scares me ( if you think of the 13,2% ABV. ) Very nice barley wine.
