Smakt på Cardinal, Stavanger. Veldig flott balanse mellom sødme og bitterhet. Et herlig juleøl! cnesmark (46) - NORWAY - NOV 15, 2014

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2015 Re-rate. Dark orange amber. Beige head and lacing. Strong aroma of cloves, ginger, coriander and star anise. Similar taste.
From tap at Mi2 at Cardinal 10.11.14. Clear amber. Not much head. Strong aroma of herbs and spices. Similar taste, with some sweetness. [6/2/6/3/12=2,9] nimbleprop (8278) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - OCT 3, 2014
50cl bottle pours a dark amber with some creamy, off white head. Nose is a mix of malt sweetness and spices, some dried fruit, dried cherries, raisins, dates, some clove, caramel too. Flavor has a lot of everything, but predominantly clove, raisins too, caramel sweetness, a bit boozy even for 7%. Full bodied finish. gyllenbock (9096) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 20, 2014
Bottle at Den Gode Nabo, June 2014.
Hazy reddish/brown with a medium creamy head. Aroma and taste of ginger, fruit, orange, yeast and malt. Some bitterness in the finish, also with warming alcohol. An ok one.

Bottle at Beer Hunters.
Hazy red color, small off-white head, some lace. Aroma of berries and cardamon. Medium-bodied. Berryish, some caramel and "Christmas" spices. Too Xmas spicey for my liking. k92488 (474) - KVERNALAND, NORWAY - FEB 9, 2014
Backlog fra Cardinals crazy juleølsmaking. Jeg ticket alle de øllene, men så at de da ikke kom med på Statistikk, så nå blir det sånn ca... Inbreak (5793) - Loddefjord, NORWAY - DEC 30, 2013

Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet neutral, caramel malts, clove, dark sugar, nuts, yeast, some dried fruits. Taste is slightly harsh, caramel malts, hay, clove, grass, yeast, leafs, bark, hints of wet grain and cardboard. Medium bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea, the earlier Julebrygg, now Skumring, was way better.
UPDATED: DEC 25, 2015 Pours a hazy light brown with a faint white head. Aromas are fruity and yeasty, with some clove and other spices. Taste is moderately sweet and quite dry. Mouthfeel is slightly oily and somewhat fizzy. Overall, the beer’s aromas are too "in your face!" for me, and left me feeling queasy and nauseous. BillHick420 (460) - NORWAY - DEC 28, 2013
2015 tasted quite similar; although it was lower on the spices, it had a more medicinal flavour.
Pours hazy nut-brown with a tanned head. Nose of spice, caramel malt. Aroma of Christmas spices, general malt. Pleasant mouthfeel that matches the beer profile, low carbonation, lingering finish.
