Gangstergafje (1142) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - JUN 2, 2017
02-06-2017; bottle; at home (bought somewhere in Moscow, Russia). The looks of the beer are quite typical for a pale lager. It is nice. The beer has a lovely deep golden yellow color. The beer is very clear, with a tiny haziness. On top of the beer a nice layer of rather rough white foam is formed. The majority of the foam collapse rather quickly. All in all, nice looks and typical for the style. The smell of the beer is very good. Very good even, especially for a pale lager. It is very rich, full of different aroma’s and lovely. The first thing I smell are rather nice sweet malts. I also smell something that I haven’t smelled in a long time. It is a sweet aroma, that reminds me a littlest of strawberry. It is a nice sweet and minimal sour aroma. It reminds me of my time in Riga, where the had some beers that had the same aroma. I love this. It gives so much to the smell. There is also a tiny bitterness of some hops. Very nice, I like it. The taste of the beer is nice. The taste of the beer is a bit less strong and lovely that the smell, but again it is very nice. The beer has a nice sweet maltiness and the nice strawberry/fruity sweet and slightly sour thing, that I love. Add some nice bitter hops to this, and you have a near perfectly balanced beer. I love it. The palate of the beer is also quite good. Medium light body, rather smooth texture and high carbonation. The finish of the beer is very good. It is of adequate length and contains some nice malts, that strawberry thing and some bitter hops. One of the best pale lagers I’ve ever had.

thirstyrabbit (1849) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 18, 2016
0,5L glass bottle, ABV is 4,5%. Pale golden body, small flat head. Aroma has grains and CO2. Dry chalky taste with mostly grains. Short sourish finish. Too watery - if the body was fuller then it would probably be somewhat drinkable but now you get a combination of blandness and weird sourish off-tastes which is not a recipe for a good lager. Very bland and therefore bad.

ectuohy27 (1175) - ESTONIA - AUG 16, 2016
(16.9 oz bottle, Vavilon, St. Petersburg). "Off-malt" aroma, same in taste, albeit with a fluffy white head. Short, off-hop finish. Very much unenjoyable.

Cunningham (7946) - Halden, NORWAY - JUL 27, 2016
Pale golden color with a fine white head. Looks ok. Ok intensity in the aroma. Medium body and an average carbonation. Decent balance between sweetness and bitterness. Herbal hoppy and a bit wort-ish malty flavor. Decent thirst quencher in the sun.

50cl bottle from Stockman, Tallinn - shared with Cunningham at the Tallinn beach sessions. Fruity, buttery and somewhat grainy aroma. Goes down fairly easy on a hot day at the beach. Sweet, grainy and not much flavour, but drinkable enough when it’s cold.

suurjuust (3530) - ESTONIA - APR 22, 2016
Bottle. Clear pale yellow beer, white head. Sickly malt in the aroma, industrial hops and water. Flavor is thin, malts, paper notes. Nasty finish with oily paper, malt, and mildly acidic grain. Ugh.

Dzhigga (349) - Kirov, RUSSIA - JUL 24, 2015
Bottle. Pale yellow color with small unsteady head. Aroma of malt with unpleasant notes. Taste is lightly malty sweet, papery and some unusual notes again, artificiallight bitterness. Finish is short. Bad one.

Marduk (7694) - Reval, ESTONIA - SEP 5, 2014
500ml bottle. Pale yellow color. Small size, white head, stays. Milky, slick, malty aroma. Sour, malty taste. Slick mouthfeel. Watery. Never again!
