Decent Dubbel but needed a little more umph. Nice standard bready and malty aroma that goes with the style. Maybe some added spice. The color was a bread-crust brown with a small head that quickly dissipated. Malt backbone that was not heavy. A little sharp aftertaste but not distasteful. No recognizable hops presence.

From Sep 2006 Poured from caged and corked 750ml(6 033 76?) a hazy dark brown with a huge off white head of foam that receded pretty quickly but left a solid layer with nice lacing. The smell is of yeast, sweet malt, and a mix of fruit and spices. Nicely aromatic. The taste at first is pretty sweet from the malt but then some fruity tones move in, mostly plum and some banana, as well as spiciness from cloves(mildly) and some pepper. There's also a yeast flavour there and some nice sour notes near and in the finish. Quite the tasty dubbel and pretty easy drinking... Bottom line: A pretty darned good Dubbel that's not too hard on the wallet.(US$6.990 from Liquorama) I recommend it.

One of the more widely available Belgian Ales, and indeed a decent one. Had it from the bottle and on some occasions from tap in the Netherlands. Nice dark color, slightly creamy head and texture, intesne, yet well-balanced flavors, especially roasted malts, make this one of the brews I won't mind having again.

Amber brown with fluffy tan/white head. Aroma of musty spiced bread. Taste is a touch sweet, bready and spicy yeast. A little prickly, but solid.

Пиво от компании Affligem. Не лучший образец Бельгии. Пиво чересчур корбонезировано как по мне. Более одной бутылки выпить очень тяжело.

my go-to beer whilst visiting the continent. also seems extremely popular in amsterdam, which is absolutely not a bad thing. a dark ruby red colour, with an unusual earthy malt taste. the "hop" aftertaste is almost spicy, in a really subtle way. sublime too - took me a while before i noticed it was 6.8%! mandatory for "smuggling" of bottles back from belgium for later consumption :D
