750ml bottle. Opens with an explosive cork pop, pours with a large foamy off-white head over a hazed and extremely dark particle filled orange body. Aroma of orange peel, chocolate, dark fruits, caramel, and butterscotch. Taste is tea, caramel, orange peel, oxidation, and butterscotch. Quite a thin mouthfeel for the style. Possibly aged quite poorly.

Bottle 0.33 , Dark amber to dark brownish pour with some off-white head. Nice lacing. The taste is sweet and kinda sour as well. It has nice malty caramel and coffee, some yeasty and fruity aromas. One can taste raisin and ripe fruit. Quite carbonated for the style.

Dark amber to dark brown pour with an off-white head. There is a sweet, malty and yeasty aroma as well. There are also some fruity, plum and raisin aromas with coffee notes. Lively carbonation. Quite solid.

Clear dark amber with a huge head. Bready malts and burnt sugar for aroma. Taste follows the nose. Medium body with quite the carbonation. Nice dubbel, nothing to go crazy over. I liked the blond better.

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2017 Hmmm, not a really pleasant double. To much carbo, to watery and not enough sweetness.

Poured from caged and corked 750ml(6 033 76?) a hazy dark brown with a huge off white head of foam that receded pretty quickly but left a solid layer with nice lacing.

The smell is of yeast, sweet malt, and a mix of fruit and spices. Nicely aromatic.

The taste at first is pretty sweet from the malt but then some fruity tones move in, mostly plum and some banana, as well as spiciness from cloves(mildly) and some pepper. There's also a yeast flavour there and some nice sour notes near and in the finish. Quite the tasty dubbel and pretty easy drinking...

Bottom line: A pretty darned good Dubbel that's not too hard on the wallet.(US$6.990 from Liquorama) I recommend it.

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2017 veel koolzuur, karamel, mild, zoetig, nietszeggend, waterig, matige dubbel. Weinig complex. Commercieel bier.
Lijkt meer op blond dan op een zoete dubbel.

One of the more widely available Belgian Ales, and indeed a decent one. Had it from the bottle and on some occasions from tap in the Netherlands. Nice dark color, slightly creamy head and texture, intesne, yet well-balanced flavors, especially roasted malts, make this one of the brews I won't mind having again.
