3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
2002 bottle: Poured with a big fluffy head, tiny bubbles left nice lacing. Bready spicey malts were perfectly sweet - not overdone, just enough of those pie spices. Finish was pleasingly dry, with some lingering spices

Strong beer! I liked it, but for a Belgian ale the alcohol was too distinct. Very carbonated with a huge head. Bitter beer with not as much spice to it as I expected, a little thin to my taste. Not as robust as most Belgians I"ve had, but still a good brew nonetheless.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: DEC 24, 2003 Wow! This was somewhat strong. Obvious fruitiness in the aroma and taste with apples seemingly predominant. Pours as a brownish haze and is very carbonated. The first sip reveals the fruit and malt within. The finish seems a little dry but reveals more of the fruitiness which leans towards a sour apple taste. Worth trying, indeed.

Reddish body, good head formation. Aroma of freshly baked bread, dark fruits, well spiced with a hint of mint. Slight fizziness on the palate, doughy, bready, oaky, plenty of spice and some chocolate and licorice. Dry spiciness in the finish blends well against the heavy malts.

Had this with a deicious Xmas dinner. How nice to compliment it with a fine ale. Yum. Nice spices on the fruity side. Perhaps a tad over carbonated. Found the alcohol pretty well hid under the flavor. Very much enjoyed.

Caramel maltiness and spicy prunes dominate the flavor. The mouthfeel is too thick with carbonation. I don’t taste Christmas in this beer. It is not flavorful or full-bodied enough for a special occasion.

Pleasant appearance, frothy head, spicy aroma. Spices, chocolate and malt in the flavor. A bit too much carbonation, but it has a smooth finish.

Hazy Orange-brown color, huge frothy head that leaves a clingy lace in the glass, sweet bready floral aroma, sweet caremel malty flavor, nice light bitterness in the finish, medium body with a pleasant creamy mouthfeel, a great seasonal ale,
