COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Atg collaboration with Northern Monk Brewing Co. in Leeds, England is intended to be British tradition meets AtG oddity. We took a traditional Extra Special Bitter, darkened it up a bit, added a dose of smoke, and threw in some American hops. The result is a pleasant malty beer with significant complexity. Up front you will get the malty sweetness and caramel character of a traditional ESB along with just enough piney American hops to round it out. The extra dark malts add a roast note that holds up the bacon-y smoke. Fear no evil when you walk with Giordano Bruno.

Aroma: Very light ointment type smoke; not very strong or savory. Caramel with a touch of pine. Appearance: Dark garnet brown with a bone colored head that settles into a ring. Flavor: Light smoke and caramel malts up front; smoke lingers throughout, leading to a slightly bitter, piney finish. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, very soft carbonation, slightly bitter finish. Overall: Solid beer; all the elements here come together pretty well.
