COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not your typical "Jelly of the Month Club" beer. Dark roasted malt and bittersweet cocoa and coffee flavor and aroma burst from this pitch black milk stout. The full body and sweetness are derived from the addition of lactose (aka milk sugar) which is not fermentable by beer yeast. A healthy dose of English Kent Goldings hops provides a counterpoint to this ale’s rich and complex maltiness.

Keg at BrewDog, Shepherds Bush, London in Dec 2017 - Opaque black in colour. Good creamy tan head. Good lacing. Malty; roasty malts, milk chocolate, caramel, coffee. Fruity; dried fruit notes, raisins. Smooth. Sweet-bitter roast chocolate malty throughout. Very drinkable. Nice well balanced Sweet Stout. (2017-12)

FROTHINGSLOSH (8362) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 26, 2017
Sampled from a 16 oz can this beer poured a black color with a huge creamy dark brown head that lingered forever and left excellent lacing. The aroma was sweet chocolate, anise and toasty malts. The flavor was sweet and malty with black licorice, cocoa and vanilla. Very long finish. Full bodied and smooth. Excellent.

Keg at Brewdog Shepherds Bush, London. A black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, coffee, chocolate aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, chocolate, some coffee, a little thin but still a decent stout.

Tap at Brew Dog. Pours dark body tan lace. Aroma chocolate malt licorice. Taste medium sweet lightly bitter. Palate is medium bodied, oily rather than creamy texture, flat to soft carbonation, not as languorous as expected.

Pours black with a frothy head. Nice malty aroma of coffee and cocoa. As an avid dark roast coffee drinker I enjoyed the coffee flavor with hints of bittersweet chocolate. A very drinkable beer that I will come back to.

Black pour with a ruby hue, tan head with light sticky lacing .... aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, light lactose sugar, and coffee ..... taste is of roasted malts, light smoke, coffee, lactose sugar and chocolate with some bitter cocoa ...... mouthfeel is slick and oily .... drinks like an imperial stout ..... nice balance of flavors and very sessionable

Can. Black with one finger head. Molasses, lightly sweet dark chocolate, light smoke, and maybe a hint of coffee. Finishes fairly dry and bitter. Solid.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2017 It's a really interesting beer. It's sweetness is unlike anything I've had before. Ultimately though, it's mouthfeel is kinda like bubble gum and the lactose added gives a really weird feel to it. I've had better.

Bebum (1147) - Massachusetts, USA - OCT 11, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 12, 2017 Dark brown, tall brown head with a fine mousse, no lace. Full body, smooth texture, intense flavor, average carbonation and heat, lingering and flavorful aftertaste. Predominantly bitter which hides the sweetness, crisp, nice balance. Simple but assertive roast flavors, more on the toasty side, smoky, vanilla, raisins. Quite a bit enjoyable, surprisingly drinkable but not very sophisticated. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
