COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not your typical "Jelly of the Month Club" beer. Dark roasted malt and bittersweet cocoa and coffee flavor and aroma burst from this pitch black milk stout. The full body and sweetness are derived from the addition of lactose (aka milk sugar) which is not fermentable by beer yeast. A healthy dose of English Kent Goldings hops provides a counterpoint to this ale’s rich and complex maltiness.

Tap at Brew Dog. Pours dark body tan lace. Aroma chocolate malt licorice. Taste medium sweet lightly bitter. Palate is medium bodied, oily rather than creamy texture, flat to soft carbonation, not as languorous as expected.

Pours black with a frothy head. Nice malty aroma of coffee and cocoa. As an avid dark roast coffee drinker I enjoyed the coffee flavor with hints of bittersweet chocolate. A very drinkable beer that I will come back to.

Can. Black with one finger head. Molasses, lightly sweet dark chocolate, light smoke, and maybe a hint of coffee. Finishes fairly dry and bitter. Solid.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2017 It's a really interesting beer. It's sweetness is unlike anything I've had before. Ultimately though, it's mouthfeel is kinda like bubble gum and the lactose added gives a really weird feel to it. I've had better.

Bebum (1098) - Massachusetts, USA - OCT 11, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 12, 2017 Dark brown, tall brown head with a fine mousse, no lace. Full body, smooth texture, intense flavor, average carbonation and heat, lingering and flavorful aftertaste. Predominantly bitter which hides the sweetness, crisp, nice balance. Simple but assertive roast flavors, more on the toasty side, smoky, vanilla, raisins. Quite a bit enjoyable, surprisingly drinkable but not very sophisticated. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, thanks Eddan. Black with a large tan head. Sweet and creamy with chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and some "milk". The body was almost full and the finish quite long.
