COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not your typical "Jelly of the Month Club" beer. Dark roasted malt and bittersweet cocoa and coffee flavor and aroma burst from this pitch black milk stout. The full body and sweetness are derived from the addition of lactose (aka milk sugar) which is not fermentable by beer yeast. A healthy dose of English Kent Goldings hops provides a counterpoint to this ale’s rich and complex maltiness.

Can. Black with one finger head. Molasses, lightly sweet dark chocolate, light smoke, and maybe a hint of coffee. Finishes fairly dry and bitter. Solid.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2017 It's a really interesting beer. It's sweetness is unlike anything I've had before. Ultimately though, it's mouthfeel is kinda like bubble gum and the lactose added gives a really weird feel to it. I've had better.

Bebum (1060) - Massachusetts, USA - OCT 11, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 12, 2017 Dark brown, tall brown head with a fine mousse, no lace. Full body, smooth texture, intense flavor, average carbonation and heat, lingering and flavorful aftertaste. Predominantly bitter which hides the sweetness, crisp, nice balance. Simple but assertive roast flavors, more on the toasty side, smoky, vanilla, raisins. Quite a bit enjoyable, surprisingly drinkable but not very sophisticated. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, thanks Eddan. Black with a large tan head. Sweet and creamy with chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and some "milk". The body was almost full and the finish quite long.

Tall can from The Gull. Canned on 2017-08-12. Pours a very dark brown with a dark beige head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malt, quite pleasant. Taste is moderately sweet with coffee and roasted malt notes. Quite pleasant

Tap at St. Augustine's. Nose is chocolate with a bit of roastiness. Sweet cocoa flavor, some coffee, roasted wood. Tasty, a bit thin on the palate.

Oakes (18543) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 15, 2017
Dark brown. Thin head. The aroma is roasty and a bit nutty. On the palate, it's pretty light, quite sweet, and has just a light bit of toastiness. It ends up being ok.

Coffee and chocolate that mimics many other sweet stouts. Decent body and plenty of chocolate in the finish.

UPDATED: SEP 1, 2017 Donkerbruin bier, schuimende mokkakleurige schuimkraag die snel inzakt. Koffie, chocolade, rozijntjes. Mild bittere afdronk. Redelijk veel koolzuur. Niet slecht maar kan mij niet volledig overtuigen.
