This beer is not candy or mother’s milk. It is not brewed by gypsies or aliens, nor does it contain any zombie dirt. This is an American Style IPA brewed with Citra Hops. It is citrusy, sticky, hoppy and delicious. Simply drink it and enjoy it. Don’t hoard this beer, Citra Ass Down and drink it now.

(Online description:) This is a very hop forward American style IPA. Brewed with Pale, Vienna, Munich and wheat malt for a solid base for all American hops, focusing mainly on the variety “Citra.” Citra hops are a relatively new variety introduced in 2008. It was bred as a hybrid of a number of different hops, including Hallertauer Mittelfrüh, U.S. Tettnanger, East Kent Golding, Bavarian, Brewers Gold, and other unknown hops. The resulting hop, Citra, has a distinct citrusy and tropical fruit flavor and aroma. In Citra ass down we used American Columbus for bittering and 11# of Citra at the end of the boil for late kettle addition flavor and aroma. Then we added 6 more pounds Citra and 5# Centennial post fermention for aroma. Rebrewed for your tasting pleasure!

What a good beer all my favorites hops, high Abv and it comes in a big ass can. Pour is hazy orange with a full white head. Aroma is bright, hoppy and earthy. Full flavors tons of citrus not as earthy as its aroma but it does have floral notes. Just good beer.

Surprisingly smooth and non-oily for a sorta high alcohol ale (8.2 abv). A candy sweetness in the malt, making the overall taste one of candied tropical fruits. Would have actually welcomed a bit more hop bite. Drinks a little easier, with subdued hoppiness, than I’d expect from a DIPA. Really enjoyed this brew...it just wasn’t as ‘challenging’ as I was expecting. That said, Against The Grain has created a laudably smooth, no heat, no oily, double IPA.

Pours a finger high, off-white, creamy head. Color is amber with fine sediment throughout. Lots of frothy drape. Nose has biscuity/cracker malts that are also a little sweet and a light sugar quality. Light fruit note from the hops along with a leafy note. Medium- body with tight, creamy carbonation. Taste is grassy, toasty malt, leafy hops, some sweet german malts and faint floral notes. With this name, it needs to be better. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

473 ml (16 oz) can bought at YATA in YoHo Mall, Yuen Long.

Looks: Cloudy hazy orange honey colour; Two finger head with crumpety off-white foam which lasts for 3 minutes; Fair good sticky lacing with fizzy carbonation.

Aroma: Very fragrant and sweet Ale malt, with strong pineapples, passion fruits, very strong honey, floral, sugar, light spices, biscuits, citrus and fresh grass.

Taste: Close to strong sweet Ale malt, with grapefruits, citrus zests, strong honey, floral, sugar, Strong woody spices, pine, resins, strong herbs, biscuits, strong lemon, strong bitter hops and fresh grass.

Body: Close to medium body. very slick and quite oozy palate.

Mouth Feel: Very good Ale maltyness in a fairly thick background. Immensely herbal honey-ish for a DIPA, with grapefruits and citrusy hops to back up. Flowery with strong nice sweetness, woody spicy with potent pine and ooze as beer warms. Strong lemon to round. Charming!

Hoppiness: Strong pineapples, passion fruits, floral, light spices, citrus and fresh grass in nose. Grapefruits, citrus zests, floral, sugar, strong woody spices, pine, resins, strong herbs, strong lemon and fresh grass in taste; Bitterness is strong for a lasting, high astringent sweet-bitter honey malty finish.

After Taste: Fairly dry. Herbal oozy and strong bitter to mouth.

Comments: The ultra strong honey herbal character really defines this DIPA's charm and ease to drink. It's somewhat simplistic in the hoppy approach, but it's clean, not cloying, and a breath of fresh air which makes this one a standout. A must try!

Aroma: lots of fruit, perfume; juicy; Appearance: clear orange pour with thin white head that lingers; Taste: malty and sweet without much of a hoppy bite; Palate: medium body with long malty finish; Overall: smooth, quite good; would get again.

Rated on 10-22-2017. This canned beer's appearance is a small thin frothy, fizzy beige head that is mostly lasting, amber orange transparent body, fast rising carbonation, and one ring of lacing. The aroma presents citrus hops, pine hops, tropical fruits, sweet, caramel, and toasty malt. The flavor is light-medium bitterness, citrus hops, some pine hops, tropical fruits, caramel, sweet, malt, and a semi-dry finish. The mouthfeel is moderate carbonation and this beer is light-medium bodied. This beer has a bitter finish and aftertaste. It is a very tasty beer with a good malty taste to it. It is one of the better tasting beers of this style that I have drank/rated. It is well worth trying and a beer that I would purchase again.

Can from Merchants. Aroma is pine, tropical fruit sweetness, caramel malt, citrus, sticky, somewhat floral. Appearance is amber golden, light tan head, somewhat clear. Taste is caramel malt, malt bitterness, some sweet tropical fruit, some citrus, resounding pine coming in late, sticky, a malt forward bomb. Mouthfeel is medium body, sticky, light carbonation, malt bitter and citrus aftertaste. Overall, it's fine but there isn't much balance.
