COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smokey, Chocolatey,...Orangey??? That’s right a smoked brown porter with orange zest. We start out with Maris Otter base malt and add cherry smoked malt, chocolate and honey malt giving a sweet smokey and chocolatey beer. Then the zest of many oranges is added after the boil to complement this beer’s smooth and complex flavors.

On tap sampler flight at the Against the Grain brewpub in Louisville, KY. Opaque, black-mahogany with a khaki head and lacing that starts quite well, but does not linger. Aroma of smokey and sweet roasted malt, Kentucky smoked BBQ sauce and orange. Taste of sweet and smokey Kentucky hickory BBQ sauce, chocolate and orange zest. Medium/full body and low carbonization. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Really unusual and offputting flavour. The pour is a dark brown with a thin brown head. The nose has a thin wafting smoky and earthy malt with light toffee and an odd fruity aroma. Sweet and malty flavour with a odd slightly off tasting smoked note with ashy smoke in the finish. Not horrible but the smoke and odd fruity flavours and just weird together.

Draught at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen december 2012. Dark brown beer with a small tanned head. A really strange beer with some smokey notes and a lot of artificiell strange hints.

[Tap @ Mikkeller & Friends] Svart men minimalt skum. Rostade och rökiga toner, skulle kunna sammanfatta aroman med rökt ölkorv.

On tap, at The Local Pub (Athens, Greece). Dark red brown, with a small head. Light body, chocolate and orange flavours. A bit like drinking an orange Aero bar. But not in a bad way, Slightly mad, like all ATG’s brews. (Also, not in a bad way.)

Poor appearance with no head at all, dark brown color. Smells of smoke and ash, smoked bacon with hints of chocolate and caramel. Tastes more or less the same.

Poured a murky dark brown/black with a small off-white head. Aroma of roast malt. Medium body, doesn’t really taste smokey to any great extent. Flavour is more sweet dark fruit and some bitterness.
