3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours to a rusty brown body with a super creamy white head. Aroma is heavily rye with lots of oak barrel and rye alcohol. The flavor is deliciously rye all the way through. Some vanilla and coconut. Chocolate. Extremely easy drinking.
Deep brown coloured body with a nice three to four centimetre tall light brown head with some light opacity in a lighter brown, but mostly clear. Aroma of alcohol, quite a bit of rye, grain and alcohol with a heavy dose of bitterness, smoke, toast, mushrooms and pure meat - very strong and quite pungent. Medium-bodied; Strong meaty flavour with some mushrooms, earth, grain, alcohol, funk and rye with quite a bit of meatiness and some sweetness from caramelised sugar near the end. Aftertaste shows the mushrooms and rye flavours with a bit of funk and some sugars with a bit of pears and apples and a dose of more meat - quite strong Overall, a nice and pungent beer with some odd flavours that generally work well but show a lot of funkiness and interesting qualities, but as long as you expect it - they work quite well. Nice to try and worth trying to find if you like meaty-beers with some off-centred flavours and things that don't quite fit into already existing styles. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Bowery), New York on 28-May-2016 for US$14,99 sampled at home on the Eastern Shore of Virginia in Pungoteague, Virginia while smoking a lot of meat on 25-January-2018 about a year and half after purchase. alex_leit (5361) - Minsk, BELARUS - AUG 18, 2017
Tap. Dark amber color. Aroma: pear, prunes, malt and spicy. Taste: alcohol, wine, malt, pie, plum jam, sweetness. JDBaker11058 (2439) - Maryland, USA - JUL 10, 2017
appearance: clear dark amber, creamy light beige head. aroma: light aroma, some caramel. taste: caramel, candi sugar, some brown sugar and toast. finish: slick soft palate, barest hint of bourbon-rye-whiskey heat. notes: Just ok for me, not too much different from, say, an average brown ale. Draft at Craft Conundrum, Charleston, South Carolina.

Kentucky is bourbon country, and this beer surely won’t change any hearts and minds on that subject, but there’s always a chance. Somehow, Kentucky Ryed Chiquen manages to capture lots of whiskey character while still drinking like a beer. Caramel brown color. Spicy rye and oak on the nose. Flavor has boozy sweetness - like charred sugar and butterscotch - and a very mellow oaky note. For all the whiskey taste, this goes down with smoothness and just a touch of pleasant heat. In typical AtG fashion, this brew comes off as a joke but drinks like something made with a lot of care and thought. HuskerTan (2469) - Ravenna, Nebraska, USA - JUN 9, 2017

A- Whisky, butterscotch, sugar cookies.
A- Brown red color, cloudy liquid, off white head.
T- Whisky, butterscotch, molasses, caramel, oak, medium sweetness, vanilla.
P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish.
O-First off, what a cool bottle. A tad disappointed it doesn’t actually taste like chicken. Just kidding that would be awful. This bottle was a gusher. Other than that it was good stuff. Lots of butterscotch and masks the booze well. Drinks easy and tastes great.

Sampled from bottle shared by Joes. Unclear dark orange to reddish color, average sized off-white to beige head. Don’t get much aroma. Taste malts, slightly hops, caramel, brown candy sugar. Decent body and carbonation. DutchDrebus (6368) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - JUN 9, 2017
Bottle @ joes. Amber colour with a medium sized off-white head. Smells sweet, malty, chocolate. Tastes nutty, sweet, malts, caramel. Medium to full body, soft carbo. oobawa (1921) - Tennessee, USA - MAY 8, 2017
Massive rye whisky bomb, dry and boozy as hell, the liquor pretty much the dominant characteristic. Some caramel comes through, maybe a bit of toffee and chocolate, but mostly we get rye whisky and nothing but rye whisky. Mild oak on the finish, maybe a hint of floral hop bitterness. Probably not. Might as well get a shot. decaturstevo (6343) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - MAY 4, 2017
