Cask draught. Pours a clear amber color with a moderate head. Nose is a little malty, but not too strong. Taste is much the same, with a very smooth feel. Good brew, but muted in the taste and smell. Brigadier (3750) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - FEB 20, 2013

A flight at Against the Grain is never a waste of money. This was no exception. Starting with a nice pale ale I worked my way down the row. I wish the local brewpub was this solid and predictably reliable.
Aroma / Appearance - The transparent base is lively with a wispy tuft of head. Sweet chocolate and caramel smell like a tease outside a Godiva shop. The candy base only heightens the temptation.
Flavor / Palate - The fluid mouthfeel refreshes a parched palate. Slightly bitter it does not dry out the back of the throat at all. Gentle and soft it goes well with any of the items on the menu.
Tap sample at IBGWF 2013. Poured clear copper color with an average to large frothy off-white head that was was lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate floral hop and sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a dry slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where exceeded. shrubber85 (11618) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - JAN 26, 2013
Draft. Light barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Lightly sweet grainy barley malt flavor. A great session beer. ContemplateBeer (2097) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JAN 19, 2013
Aroma of biscuit, nuts, light herbal hops. Appearance is copper with sticky white head. Flavor matches the nose; malty up front with slightly herbal/spicy finish. Palate is light, creamy and soft. Solid.

Draft to taster at AtG. Looks solid; a transparent copper with thin white lacing. Smells and tastes like a well-balanced English bitter. Good on the palate. A solid example of the style.
