Not your typical "Jelly of the Month Club" beer. Dark roasted malt and bittersweet cocoa and coffee flavor and aroma burst from this pitch black milk stout. The full body and sweetness are derived from the addition of lactose (aka milk sugar) which is not fermentable by beer yeast. A healthy dose of English Kent Goldings hops provides a counterpoint to this ales rich and complex maltiness.

pint can.

Pint can no date stamp. Deep brown-black body has a moonscape disc of foam on top. Aroma is milk chocolate, raisin, espresso and a bit of blackberry. Front tastes of dark toffee, berries and coffee with cream. Later turns veer towards charred wood, chocolate malted milk balls and some prickly green herb. Mildly smoky chocolate mint lingers in the long finish. Medium-plus body has smooth low-medium carbonation and a very drinkable balance. Fifth brew Ive had from this brewery and four of them have been quite impressive.

Black with brown head. Aroma of Mocha and malt. Sweet, malty with some dying affect from the dark roasted malts. Surprisingly short malty finish. Could use some more aggressive roasted grain character. Nice overall.

Holy chocolate this is good. This might be the smoothest milk stout Ive ever had. Absolute insane chocolate aroma, coffee and vanilla. It smells like a hershey bar dipped in coffee. Upon drinking this beast, one will notice its like liquid chocolate and its so smooooth. Silky is absolutely right with this one, I want to just geek out on it all day. Such a delicious beer, these guys can do no wrong. Highly recommended.

The aroma is chocolate, milk cream, roast. The appearance is deep black, light tan head. The flavor is like the aroma, chocolate, milk. The finish is sweet, light pine hops. Medium in body. Not bad.

Aromas of roasted malts, dark fruits, and dark chocolate, some sweet cream too. Taste is dark fruits, dark chocolate, espresso and roasted malts, some sweet cream, and a nice Kent goldings hop finish.
