COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not your typical "Jelly of the Month Club" beer. Dark roasted malt and bittersweet cocoa and coffee flavor and aroma burst from this pitch black milk stout. The full body and sweetness are derived from the addition of lactose (aka milk sugar) which is not fermentable by beer yeast. A healthy dose of English Kent Goldings hops provides a counterpoint to this ales rich and complex maltiness.

Deep black pour with a tan head. The aroma has chocolate with some light wood. It has a full body with smooth texture and average carbonation. The taste is mildly sweet with a lightly roasted finish.

This beer pours a Nice dark, dark brown with a thin tan head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is strong and has a slight licorice smell. Nice chocolatey flavor with very slight bitterness but an overall malty sweetness. A great beer!

Black colored, small frothy non lasting tan head. Aroma is of chocolate, some roasted malt, dried fruits, lactose. Taste is medium+ sweet milky chocolate, roasted malt, some dark chocolate, medium- roasty bitterness, some lactose, sweet finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, milky. A bit too sweet for my liking. (bottle, Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte)

Pours black with a modest tan head. Aroma has a modest earthy hoppiness to it with notes of roasted malt and some sweetness to the finish. Flavor has a sweetness at the start that combines with the smooth roasted malts notes and some earthy bitterness. Light notes of raisin, chocolate, coffee and smokiness are present. Body is modest with a low/modest amount of carbonation. Overall a good brew.

Flat black body with a small fizzy brown head. The nose is roasty and sweet with some nice lactose and lighter coffee. The flavor is very sweet, lots of lactose in here. Roasty and chocolaty beyond the sugar. Pretty solid milk stout. Medium bodied and fairly smooth with soft gentle carbonation. Pretty decent stuff.
