Cask at the source. Clear dark maroon, fluffy tan head. Aroma of burnt and carmelized brownies. Taste is sweet and malty with bitter cocoa powder. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - OCT 3, 2012
Draught at the brewpub. Pours a very dark amber with a moderate head. Very nice and appealing roasting to this beer, with some interesting malt flavors to go along with it. Probably my favorite that AtG had when I was there. wnoble (1251) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - SEP 22, 2012
Pours deep brown. Bose is sweet sugar, caramel, toast, breads, rich malts, bitters molasses. Flavor is similar sweet malt flavors and richness and even seems like I get some hop flavor in there. Bitter finish but not lingering. Nice beer. Growler. drfabulous (8467) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - SEP 20, 2012

Aroma of molasses, milk chocolate, caramel and light lactose. Appearance is dark ruby red with light tan head. Flavor matches the nose, the chocolate and lactose are most noticeable. Palate is soft and bubbly. An interesting Scotch Ale.
