3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Growler) Pours a clear orange body with a small off-white head. Aroma of nuts, grapefruit, pine, pineapple, and maple. Flavor of nuts, toasted grain, pineapple, pine, and citrus with a dry, bitter finish.
Old note. On tap @ In de Wildeman. The aroma has citrus, pine, biscuit and toffee. Clear, amber coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste is moderate bitter with citrus, pine, toffee. Indeed not much Belgian tones there. Great one. slowrunner77 (12581) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 13, 2014
The oak aging is obvious. The Belgian yeast? Not so much. Really no Belgian presence whatsoever. Even for a IIPA not really fitting the style. I liked this as a beer, but an aged double iPa, particularly this one, smells and tastes more like a nice barleywine than an IPA. I’d get again, knowing what to expect." Taster at 8ball - thought for sure I had rated his before, but glad to have it again. Nose is pine and citrus. Sip adds resin and a general hoppiness. Lemon peel galore. AndyW68 (1589) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - MAR 10, 2014
Ok, maybe quality, but not for me. Reddish orange with thin head. Aroma is musty. Taste is musty and bitter. phaleslu (10547) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 13, 2014
Draft in a sampler at Ei8ht Ball. Called "Sh*t Jeans" on the menu - their censorship, not mine. Pours a clear amber color, almost a burnt orange, with a small off-white head. Notes of caramel and toasted brown sugar, dry leaves, biscuits, earth, and a hint of citrus. Medium-bodied, with a smooth, earthy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Not sure if it was the faint Belgian character or if any certain hop threw me off, but I found it to be just an average DIPA.

Tap. Poured clear dark copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex hop and wood aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy complex bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy smooth bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. A solid bittersweet beer. alexsdad06 (10639) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JAN 2, 2014

Draft. Poured clear dark copper color with an average fizzy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex earthy hop aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy complex bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy smooth bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. A very good beer.
Draft at Ei8ht Ball. Pours a clear amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have herbal notes, tea, grass, lightly toasted bread, oak, moderate bitterness to the finish. I don’t get much Belgian character, but do get quite a bit of tea. It is interesting but not something I would seek out again. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 30, 2013
Taster on tap at Ei8ht Ball, labeled "Sh^t Jeans". Clear orange copper color. Little off-white head. Leaves good bits of lace. Wow, much smoother than expected. Medium to bigger body. Lighter, smooth carbonation. Lightly slick texture. A bit malt forward, but the malts, are very tasty. Toasty, light caramel malt. Some butterscotch. Biscuity. Some piney hop. Light grapefruit, but taste is not overly hoppy - bitter.. Great balance of moderate sweet and bitter in the taste. A tasty, malty DIPA. TBone (17990) - Pori, FINLAND - NOV 17, 2013

Deep red-amber color, small off-white head. Piney, hoppy aroma. Medium-bodied. Very piney flavor with dry oaky flavors. So lots of wood although not too dry. Welldone.
Brown pour with a white head. The aroma has some orange and pine notes as well as some biscuit malt. The flavor is full of oranges with some medium bitterness, a hint of pine and some toffee malt. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
