COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smooth, crisp, and refreshing, this German style pilsner is a great offering for a thirsty ballgame crowd. A judicious amount of light pilsner malt, a cold lagering process, and appropriate additions of the German noble hop, Tettnanger, make this one of the most approachable beers we have ever made. This beer is flavorful without taking any particular flavor over the top, and is made to be consumed by initiates and veteran drinkers alike. Enjoy a few.

Braudog (6852) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - DEC 3, 2014
Draft at the brewpub. Slightly hazy, but firm and golden. Nice solid pillowtop. This is a sturdy, biscuit-laden pils with a tight but creamy exterior and interior, and a grassy-hoppy finish. Good schtuff. (#5877, 12/3/2014)

50belair (3692) - Florida, USA - FEB 17, 2015
On tap at the brewery. Clear pale yellow pour with a white head. Light Pilsner aromas. Light with lots of grain and malt notes. It has that Pilsner bitterness. Average body and mouthfeel. For a Pilsner, it’s pretty solid.

1/2 liter Willibecher draft at the brewpub in Louisville, Kentucky. The pour is a clear golden, with a one inch white head. The aroma is bright citrus and earthy hops, along with nice cracked lightly toasted grain malt. The taste is a great balance between the clean cereal grain malt and the lively citrus earthy hops. The palate is light to medium bodied, natural carbonation and a great mineral finish. Nicely done Pils, great beer for the outdoor patio at the brewpub.

on tap @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear medium amber color, solid one-finger ivory head, wide strips of lace. Nice aroma of Pilsener. Taste is rich Pilsen malt that moves effortlessly through the palate to a finish with mild European hops. Very traditional, and very good. Recommended.

jcr (2779) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - JUL 3, 2013
Draft. Clear golden body with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of grass, straw, lemon, toasted grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Clean malts and a nice hop bite in the finish. Grassy taste with a slight vegetative flavor. Enjoyable.

Brigadier (3760) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - MAY 17, 2013
On tap at brewpub

Sample number two was a fine light sessionable pils. Once again it is great to see AtG going for more accessible styles. Nailing this one shows they are better at more than just 7%+ hop (and / or) malt bombs.

Aroma / Appearance - The golden bubbly base and minimal head provide the perfect place for the bouquet of mildly sour hops, caramel, and ripe lemons. Noble hops hold it together like the spine of a book.

Flavor / Palate - Citrus glazed over a rich piece of cheesecake softens the palate. Lemon rinds and dry pie crust finish a mild mannered but balanced profile. Without a doubt this is a beer I would recommend not just to tickers but to anyone who wants to know what is out there besides BMC.

phaleslu (10750) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 10, 2014
Draft in a sampler at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy, pale gold color with a small white head. Aroma of straw, grass, pale malts, lemon, mild spice, crackers, and herbs. Distinctly German in nature. The flavor matches the aroma. Light-bodied, with low to moderate carbonation and a smooth, refreshing mouthfeel. Very nice pils.
