3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draught at Bailey’s Taproom 3/8/13. Golden color. Yeasty, fruity aroma. Fruit and yeast light taste. Refreshing.
You can definitely taste the apricot. Decent flavor and a decent beer all around. I can appreciate the alcohol content. Sampled from a flight at the Tap & Growler, Eugene OR. Salmoniform (1272) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - FEB 16, 2014
Poured ’12 & ’13 from tap to glass. ’12 crystal clear golden hue with white head that dissipated quickly. ’13 hazy golden hue with thick white head that lingered. Aroma on both are similar with holiday spices, sugar, hay, esters, vegetables. ’12 mouthfeel is soft with a medium body and low carbonation while ’13 is sharp with moderate body and higher carbonation. ’12 taste is slightly sweet initially with a metallic finish while ’13 is drier with slight astringentness in the following and acidic metallic finish. Overall these are decent brews that aren’t too overpowering with the spices but they still come across somewhat astringent. The ’13 is tart and my personal preference but it is pretty hazy.
