Pale amber colour, clear, small quickly disappearing head, tiny amount of lacing. Aroma was banana with hints of clove. Tasted banana, clove, caramel, finish was grassy, earthy malt. Medium carbonation, smooth, texture was slightly thick but it worked. Was impressed, a good Maerzen. Quack-Duck (9484) - Down South, GERMANY - DEC 21, 2007
bottle. Clear golden yellow with large head. Full-bodied sweet and malty with hints of marzipan and a pleasantly hoppy lingering finish. kamwitsta (553) - POLAND - APR 26, 2016
Aroma: malts, a little bit of honey, and this note characteristic of German lagers.
Appearance: brown; clear; head small, not very pretty, unstable.
Taste: sweet, a little bitter, and a bit sour; a nice balance.
Palate: body medium; carbonation lively; mouth feel slightly astringent and a bit sticky; finish hardly any.
Overall: nice for everyday drinking. BeerViking (4781) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2011
UPDATED: SEP 12, 2012 0.5l fliptop bottle from Hol’Ab! in Winsen an der Aller, Germany. Pours light brown with a fine white head, aromas of malt and a little honey and melon, crisp and malty on the tongue, then sweetening in the mid body as honey and bready notes come through. Nicely balanced with a lingering honey-bitter finish. Re-rate: more of a dark gold this year, flavour a little drier, still very nice. Erzengel (8721) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - NOV 1, 2014
Rating from 2005. Würzig-malziges Bier. Leicht süßlich, im Abgang angenehm aber deutlich herb. --> 11

6 Mashy sweet aroma, doughy.
4- Rich straw colour, small persistent head.
6 Grainy, soft floral herbs in the retronasals.
4- Smooth palate, gently carbonation. Lovely fresh hoppy finish, aromatic and gently bitter.
12 Very refreshing brew.
Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass golden-copper, small head. Starts strong and spicy, also with some wheaty notes, modest dry. Finish well balanced, spicy, could be a bit more intense. But still a good beer! Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 15, 2009
Bottle 50 cl. Pours a slightly hazy golden with an off-white head. Clean and malty aroma. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel, a clean maltiness and a lightly perfumy touch from the hops. Hardly any bitterness. 291108 thebeertourist (5189) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 31, 2009
Bottle. Pours clear pale golden with a good white foam. Malty and perfumy hops aroma. Hints of ginger bread together with spicy and perfumy hops. Medium dry. Not over-exciting, but absolutely drinkable.
