Golden amber-brown. Toasty, caramelly nose. Lots of rich earthy caramel character. Nicely made - rich and chewy for the style. Drake (14492) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 22, 2013

Growler courtesy of kp sampled on 1/4/07: Pours a slightly hazy copper red with a thin, wispy white head. Aroma of lightly sweet, toasty crystal malts and a mild citrusy hoppiness. Body starts with a lightly sweet toasty, earthy maltiness toward a blander bittersweet finish. An average red ale. decaturstevo (6343) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - FEB 28, 2009
Orange with off white head and lace. Light caramel on the nose. Light caramel with nice light reisiny finish. A bit thin but with good carbonation. A tick away from being very good. jbruner (5826) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - JAN 29, 2016
Pours a clear amber brown on tap with thin ring of off-white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of diacytel again, buttery and malty. Taste is more toward the noble earthy hop and malty toastiness, again diacytel is covered. Meh, one of the better ones. nearbeer (5784) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 21, 2007
UPDATED: SEP 16, 2008 Draft. Clear amber with a creamy head that has good retention. Dried, toasted nut and yeast aroma. Flavor is slightly sweet toasted nut that has those unique British dry, earthy hop and yeast flavors that increase slightly in the middle and finish. Light-medium body and dry palate.
