On tap @ the brewery. Pours thick inky brown with thin mocha head. Aroma is dark charred malt and a hint of chocolate. Taste is smooth super roasty malt with mild chocolate finish. I worked through 2 pints and gotta say, I just couldn’t make out any coconut. At all. Weird. Tasty stout nonetheless, nice flavor and body.

Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent tan cover.
Nose is rich chocolate, light roast, toffee fudge, hint of Bounty bar.
Taste comprises light roast, coconut evident, chocolate, more toffee.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.

Dark pour, sudsy tan head. Roasty nose, somewhat sour, a hint of what, with a little bit of imagination, might be sweet coconut. Slightly sour grain flavor, coffee, heavy on the cocoa nibs. Not much coconut, could be sweeter given the other components. Almost passable but not better than that.
First tried off tap at wob, now having it in 16oz can from wob. Black color with almost zero clarity. Aroma of espresso and coconut. Mild carbonation on the first sip with chocolate and alcohol prevalent. Surprisingly pungent alcohol flavor for 5.3 abv. Prob because it’s in conjunction with the burnt malt and coffee flavors and that I’m drinking it cold. I remember this brew being sweeter on draft and also more enjoyable. Can. Pours a near black color with a moderate tan head on it. Now, I have to state that this was my wife’s beer, as I HATE coconut. The nose wasn’t as bad as I had feared, as there was some nice roasting and coffee notes in there; however, there was some noticeable, though slightly subtler coconut tones. Taste was quite roasty and (thankfully) didn’t have the coconut elements the nose did.

Can:   Deep brown, thin sudsy off-white head, little lacing.   Ashy nose, some roasted malts, but not so much on the coconut.   Wha?   Where is the coconut on the tongue.   Pale yet somewhat sweet roasted malts, and that’s about it.   Has a milk stout like lactose sweetness, but not so much on the coconut.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate, leaning on the thing side.   Finishes a little flat, soft roasted malts, light sweetness, perhaps a smidge of coconut.   On terms of this being a coconut stout, it fails on coconut and also on stout.   Way too light overall. Tallboy Can. Pitch black with a substantial layer of cappuccino foam. Aroma is a blend of toasted coconut, charred malts and dark chocolate. The flavor delivers a healthy dose of coconut, coffee and cocoa at the start along with some roasted malt and Kahlúa in the finish. Now that it’s warm I can properly rate this. Smells of coconut and milk chocolate. Flavors are sweetened coconut and burnt chocolate, with a nice roasted malt flavor that goes into a burnt touch towards and into the finish. Hints of nuts and coffee as well. Chocolate aromas pours very dark with ruby highlights with minimal head retention and lacing. Dry, chocolate, roast, espresso, slight oilyness earth and is drinkable with a low viscosity. Drink Warm!
